A Seattle must! Take the water taxi to west Seattle! It departs at the most southern pier, #15 I think. It drops u off next to a great hawaiian fusion healthy fast food resturant. The kalua pig sliders are Awsome! You can rent kayaks right there or just walk to alki beach. Plenty to do along alki for wife and kids, bikes, standup paddle boards, kyaks, and all kind of resturants along the beach. Sorry about the android quick typing mess.

Pretty sure there's no such thing as a healthy pig slider in this universe... That said, I know the place and its pretty good.

Thanks for all the reply's.
This is the very reason I keep coming back to this thread. "Everyone having the same interest in good times, good people, and good places." Minus the occasional "doom & gloom", but we're all pilots right? :D A safe and happy Independence Day holiday to everyone, whether you're working or attempting amateur pyrotechnics at home. GJ |

How do you propose moving to LGP without someone getting a paycut? The total pilot payroll will not change because we want a new pay system. That's where the idea of longevity pay falls apart. For every pilot that gets more money, another pilot will get less.

That makes no sense. You are assuming that the payroll remains static. It will be increasing. Some might more than others, but nobody will take a paycut.
So how do you sell it if some guys are going to get a 1% pay raise while others get a 15% pay raise. Do you really think something like that would pass a vote? Further, how do you handle staffing as you shift to LGP? Do you rebid the entire airline? Cause a guy who is sitting junior reserve at a crappy crashpad at LGA is not going to want to stay there if his pay is the same either way. Again, for every pilot who gets a good deal someone else will get the shaft. A pilot who is junior in ATL but not commuting may well be forced to commute when that senior pilot who was commuting to LGA for the money decides to come home. How far do you run out the pay scale? 20 years? 25 years? How do you set it up so a pilot gets a raise every year for 25 years without lowering the rates for years 1-12? LGP creates more problems than it solves. It's a pipe dream for few lazy pilots who want 777 pay without having to commute to a base where the 777 is flown. |

Looking for some destination tips.
My wife and I are planninga trip to Seattle over the July 4th holiday. (July 3rd - 5th) Anyone have any suggestions of must places to go for eats, sightseeing, and/or great places to stay. Planning, of course, to run down to the Pike Place Market, but other than that, haven't ever been downtown Seattle. (Been to Ft. Lewis once, but would rather leave that experience in my past!) :D Thanks for the reply. GJ |

Ivar's Acre of clams on the pier has great food and a happy hour starting at 3pm every day. Great oyster shooters, clam chowder, fish tacos, crab cakes, and excellent beers. Highly recommended.
