Your bullet points (like the rest of this laundry list) are not facts. They are your opinions and completely mischaracterized writings. You're certainly entitled to your opinions as is Kingsley, but they're not facts. DPA's plans will only be decided upon by a members vote after a successful decertification vote of ALPA. You ALPA no matter what guys will do and/or say ANYTHING to keep that vote from happening. Your panic is actually painful to watch.
Self serving spin and panicked hyperbole won't work for you guys anymore. IMO, you're only hope of keeping ALPA here would be a complete and public repudiation of Mr. Moak and an absolute promise by our local leaders to vote against Moak's reelection, admit to the endemic conflict of interest within ALPA, and provide a clear plan to bring back all Delta branded flying to the Delta pilots seniority list. You do those things and I'll tear up my DPA card and work for DALPA everyday til I retire. Carl The DPA Constitution is effective upon certification. October 29, 2010 DPA Begins Writing Constitution and By-Laws Today the Delta Pilots Association begins the process of writing its Constitution and By-Laws. All Delta Air Lines Pilots can have a hand in writing these important and historical documents by signing up for membership in DPA. All members that participate in this process will be considered founding contributors and will be honored by finding their names attached as signatories on the final version of our Constitution to be released after DPA wins the National Mediation Board provided election.
The dues rate shall be 1.75% upon initial certification by the National Mediation Board. On January 1st of the second full fiscal year following initial certification, the dues rate shall drop annually by 0.25% every year until reaching a minimum dues rate of 1%. Special Circumstance Exception: Six (6) months prior to the amendable date of the Pilot Working Agreement, or upon early opening of negotiations if greater than six (6) months prior to the amendable date, or upon notification of a possible bankruptcy or merger initiated by the Company, the dues rate will temporarily increase by 0.5% until the new contract is ratified, or bankruptcy proceedings or merger integration is complete.
The compensation/salaries of all Officers, Representatives and Committee Chairpersons of the Association shall be based on bidding for and flying one half (1/2) of the Average Line Value (ALV) of the awarded Category (as defined by the Pilot Working Agreement) or completing an equivalent amount of reserve duty. In addition, the Association will pay a salary of one half (1/2) of the ALV of the Category bid plus a premium of thirty percent (30%) of the ALV for the President and twenty-five percent (25%) of the ALV for all other Officers, Representatives and Committee Chairpersons.
USAPSA v SSM&P S.D.N.Y 7:12-cv-01981-ER

What a hairball on here. It's not a huge order, and it's just a top up for the next few years. Doesn't mean there won't be another small order in a few years. A few things stick out to me:
The 330-300 vs the -200. It's a big plane. 777 big. Lots of people. Need someplace to fly that big of an airplane. So it's either going to replace the 7ER on some routes, or it's going to serve new ones. My bet is it's going to free up 330-200's to overfly Japan and be used on heavier routes like SEA-NRT or LAX-HND. In the summer, expect to see it a lot in Europe at the hubs. There is plenty of life left in the 7ER's, and they are still being retrofitted with brand new interiors, not just new seats. Might see some new markets with those. The 321 is a nice jet. Wouldn't surprise me to see more of those either. Whether we ultimately grow, stay the same, or shrink depends on the global economy more than anything else. |

But must you resort to hate speech and racial slurs to describe them? Totally unsat. |
