You're just facing the negative nancies with the same thing of a different flavor. I expect the constant negatives from the uneducated, but you're well versed. Battle it with facts, not Pom poms.
+2 timbo -1 johnso -1 slowplay Penalty, 15 yards, carrying the ball while performing overly enthusiastic cheerleading; implying 100% growth then backpedalling; ignoring release word indicators such as "capacity" and "renewal" with a "there's no good reason this COULDN'T be pure growth!"; playing with non-approved rose-colored visor shield, and roughing the poster, penalty against Company Cheer Team, 1st down for Cautiously Optimistic Previously Burned. |

Cheerleading is fine and all. In fact, as shown below, Timbo used to be a cheerleader...albeit for very different reasons: http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-con...eerleaders.jpg Carl "Hey, I can see my lost DB retirement from here!" :D |

Here's what you wrote (not crew resources):
I suggested you go look at the fleet plan before opining. Add up the number of 737-900, A321 and A333 scheduled for delivery prior to 12/31/17. Then subtract out the number of 757's and 767's scheduled for parking or retirement. According to management's current plan, you might want to soften your "will." Here's what Scambo had to say last year about posts like yours: I for one always think slowplay is a pretty smart poster who is thinking hard about this stuff and knows more than me... but OMG why doesn't he ever just post the numbers he thinks support his argument instead of posting rhetorical questions? I'd probably be all "Go slow, go slow!" instead of "hmm, sounds like a weasel-style lawyer-politician side-step answer, I think I'll not believe him and side with the other opinion until proven otherwise". |

Why is ALPA so misunderstood by so many people? Carl What concerns me is that you, and the DPA "leadership" will carry this idealogy for hard work forward. What will you do when the going gets tough? When things don't go your way? Will you simply choose to disengage again? Tear down what we have because it doesn't fit your vision of the way things should be? I'd be a lot more impressed with you and DPA if, while waiting for the revolution to take place, you would create some change (in the real world.) Hell, I might even renew my card if you personally carried a resolution forward and showed me that you can get things done. If your future volunteers are as industrious/engaged as you say they will be, then it should be no problem to pass a few resolutions in several councils at the next quarterly meeting. It doesn't even need to be anything serious. Just send up a resolution to the floor of the next MEC meeting demanding that Tim Caplinger be allowed to tap dance on the infamous oil painting in Herndon - anything to show that you can make something happen in the real world. If your resolution gets tabled at the MEC level (which it probably would in this case), start recalling reps. You have massive support and activism on your side, so what are you waiting for? The utter refusal to work within our current reality is what concerns me the most. Don't bother bringing me your excuses as to why you say it won't matter. That's a cop out, and the most concerning part of all. Can you find out for me when was the last time that TC attended an LEC meeting? **And just for you Carl, the oil painting resolution was TIC in case you missed it. Don't waste any time zealously rebutting that part of my post. |

Of course, after pointing at this several times, slowplay doesn't actually POST what the numbers are-- we have to assume he's looked at it and knows what it says, but the #1 rule of a slowplay post is NEVER POST AN ACTUAL FACT, ONLY POST RHETORICAL QUESTIONS that imply you're right and the other guy doesn't know his stuff... without ever actually supporting yourself.
