The last time Delta hired the system was very objective with weighting given to activities which demonstrated the applicant was a person who habitually went "above and beyond." The majority of my class had continued university studies beyond their Baccalaureate work. No one ever figured out exactly how these items were scored, but search posts by ACL65 and others in early 2007 for insights.

Also, "points" (for lack of a better term) could be obtained by pre-interview meetings with Chief Pilots, although I had heard that got shut down. In effect these became internal recommendations.

Internal recommendations were validated by use of a Delta.com e-mail address, so if you have internals they should be using their internal e-mail to help you out.

I can't ell you for certain what will happen, but my guess is that if you stay on the (amazingly well designed) 88, you will be back in msp sooner.

Not True.

I was one the phone with Delta Crew Resources, about my recall; I was told by MK that there are 20 or so of 200 recall/bypass pilots that have not reached 10 years of bypass yet and therefore have the option.

That's correct. Northwest furloughed some guys in 2005 I believe. Did MK by chance mention how many have accepted recall yet?

Yes. A little less then 2 years ago I VDd to NYC 7ERB & received a 2 year freeze. Pretty much any(w/a few exceptions) AE & VD will incur a 2 year lock.

Sec 22.G.1

A pilot who is awarded an AE or VD will incur a 24-month category freeze, and an entry level pilot will incur a 12-month category freeze.

Exception one: A domestic category pilot will incur a 9-month category freeze if:
a. the award is an AE or VD for the same status in an international category, and
b. he requires no qualification training, other than transoceanicworld wide operations ground school and simulator(s).

Exception two: Subject to Section 22 G. 1. Exception one b., a pilot currently under a category freeze may be awarded an AE or VD to the same position at a different base.

Exception three: A B-767/B-757 or a B-767/B-757 (International) pilot who is awarded an AE or VD in the same status for the B-767-400ER and undergoes B-757/767 to B-767-400ER qualification training will incur a 9-month category freeze.

Exception four: A B-767-400ER pilot who is awarded an AE or VD in the same status for the B-767/B-757 or the B-767/B-757 (International) and undergoes B-767-400ER to B-757/767 qualification training will incur a 9-month category freeze.

One little tidbit that I found out about seat locks..........If you have a seat lock and then are MD'd only to be re-instated on a later bid.......Voila! No more seat lock!

Ha ha! That very short displacement worked great for you!

Did you get to skip training?

Another way to get out of seat lock is to use Gold Bond.
