only if ALPA gives it up.
The DPMP is contractual.

Question

Non-rev help folks. Going international and HK's are on the airport standby list... Do they upgrade them to Business Class? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks

Unfortunately, I've seen that in the past.

True. In the way that I, as a non-accountant type of guy, would understand it, military guys who go elsewhere for their health insurance plans "cost" Delta nothing.

But, military guys are probably one of the more healthy groups on the property, and it's possible that Delta would prefer otherwise.

Because, the health insurance game is all about assumptions, predictions, and actuarial tables, and getting the healthy plan participants to pay for the less healthy, I would think that Delta would be more likely to want military guys in their insurance pools because they would be the one group that would be most likely to put in more than they took out.

Just another way to look at it.

Does anyone know where One Great Team passes rank on the upgrade list?

There is a +140 page version of their plan out there, but I can't figure out how to get to the link to post it.

Here is a 28 page "talking points" version of the plan they came up with for health care in 1989:

I'm fairly sure you go ahead of all other non-revs. I think you show up as an S1 or something like that.

Yep, that has become quite common. DL will severely overbook coach when business is fairly available. You gotta take the plane as a whole. So for example there's a certain A330-200 that's heading overseas today with 16 open in business, but -17 in coach. The plane is overbooked by 1. If absolutely everybody shows up, there will be 17 HKs without assigned seats in coach, and the agent will accomodate as many in business as he can rather than buy off or deny boarding to all of them. When looking at the airport standby list, you gotta take those HKs into account.

For what it's worth, I use a rule of 12 at hub airports. If the number of overbookings for the plane + nonrevs ahead of me ≤ 12 (as of, say, 3 hours prior), I usually get on. At non hub airports the number is less because no misconnects. The euros in particular are very good at making their flights, I've found the number of no-shows at european airports other than AMS & CDG is usually 2 or 3.

Yeah. They probably changed their mind exactly 20 years later.... in 2009.

It's not a question of if, but when.

Even if DPMP does survive the next contract, it will be more of the same--- an increase in premiums and a decrease in benefits.
