I just received an email from two of my 2010 classmates. Both were hired by UAL. One is at Indoc and the other is getting ready to start. That makes 6 guys from my class who left DAL. 2 - UAL 2 - FDX and 2 - SWA
Wow....

Wow....
UAL can be a crapshoot-they are just beginning the synergy process that we did back 5 years ago... FDX is probably not a bad call... but SWA??

If you stick around here, you'll be a 767 captain before they even make senior FO...

I'd call all of those, at best, toss ups. FEDEX, sure. SWA, maybe. UAL, no.

Don't worry, it's just taking the IT guys a little while to roll in all the Alaska employees. It'll be back up soon.

Porsche is building its customer test track within walking distance of DAL HQ. It's worth it to do one of their driving experiences they offer there.

Depends on your taste and budget.

I've been based in DTW and CVG both. I would say hotels are a bit pricier in CVG and can be harder to get. Depends too if you have a car.

If you have a car, try Priceline in the airport and Florence areas. Generally, a $50-55 will get you a 3 star hotel out the door for under $70 after taxes. The Doubletree at the airport gives us $76 out the door and it is very nice. This is almost the best bet for value for your money.

There are certainly dives that can be had for cheap. I think that the Quality and Comfort Inns are in the $45-50 range out the door. They aren't great, but if you aren't going to be there long I guess they are tolerable.

Country Inns and Suites is about $68-70 out the door, but seems to always be full. As dead as the airport is, (good) hotels can be tough to come by.

SWA isn't even interviewing, another BS story.

They left for SW last year, when they were hiring. The 2 left for FedEx shortly after starting here a couple years ago. I know we have 2010 hires who are applying & interviewing at UAL. The story is 100% true.

Yeah you're right, "unconflicted" IPA and APA did so well for their furloughs. The massive increase at DCI was mostly to non-ALPA pilot groups, that didn't "help" ALPA or any of us in the last decade.

Nobody saved the company from BK, and no union could save a company from BK... If I'm wrong please show me a good example.

Poor management leads to bankruptcy, keep your blame in the right place.
