I don't believe I've characterized this even one time as some sort of North/South fight. Does that matter to you, or is it just the need to hurl the insult that is all that matters?

The only past I want to hold on to is the few protective language covenants that still exist in our scope clause. You guys that are so eager to strip out scope language that is displeasing to management are the ones that will get us all run over by the future of continued outsourcing.

I don't know what is in this TA, but I do know that the company can easily shrink NRT with very little penalty to them.

As they can with any profitable or unprofitable flying. The fact management could do something is no reason to strip out protective scope language.

That was your exact argument with the Atlantic Joint Venture language that gave us unprecedented protections based on rock solid percentages of the JV's total flying. They're not working out so good now, are they. The protections we have now with NRT are very good. That's why I want them to stay. That's why management wants them out.

NRT will shrink, it will decrease in importance to our network, that is just economics. It is not dead and it won't go away any time soon, but it will shrink.

That's your completely factless personal opinion.

Completely incorrect. The name of the game is ticket price. That will likely be the case for our foreseeable futures. Over flight requires very expensive aircraft which drives ticket prices way up. Hubbing out of an Asian hub is the most efficient and cost effective way to operate. That's why we hub in the US instead of point to point hub overflights.

Again, your completely fact vacant personal opinion. But I guess you think whatever case needs to be made to give management what they want, then that's the case you'll make.

To those who are somehow shocked that ALPA would fritter away Sect 1 (and without memrat) to bail out the company again, I say: Don't worry. Everything is just fine. Your careers are perfectly safe, and above all--

"We'll get 'em next time."

Say it enough, and you might actually believe it.

I don't think anyone from ALPA says or believes that. You can't just go into management, bang your fist on the desk and demand large pay raises and get them. Anyone who has any business sense would realize that.

Look at AA - they wanted to recover everything lost at once. They got nowhere. Part of the reason SWA pay got so high is that they didn't get large pay bumps every 5 years - they got medium pay bumps every year.

We're getting our pay raises and work rule improvements year by year.

Along with a nice steady decline in pilot positions, year by year. Watch the feet!

Lets say an APC forum member wanted to enjoy a beautiful fall morning, watching the chipmunks and birds play, drinking an excellent cup of coffee and catching up on the L & G on the World's best airline. Wife just took the kids to school, the house is quiet ... so you pour a cup and flip on the L&G ... But oh darn, there are a bunch of emo posts which inform the reader of nothing more than the negative feelings of a person who constantly just vents "everything and everyone sucks" without adding any new research, data, or interesting objective fact. It's kind of like your toast getting dropped into someone else's bacon grease, just yyyeach!

A reader could go to their USER CP, click there and go down the left side to the "Edit Ignore List" selection box. Thus configured, a reader could peacefully enjoy:

:)

Ahhh, an instantly the Delta pilot group just seems, well, smarter, more deliberative, considerate and courteous.

Seriously, think about what you type for a minute. WHO benefits from us "frittering" away section 1. If this LOA passes, who benefits? Are we "conceding" to help Skymark pilots, are senior guys getting their pensions back, are junior guys going to have a personalized reserve system, are commuters going to be home based or are we just doing it to be nice to Richard?

The MEC is us, Delta pilots. I don't see them ****ing away section 1 provisions just so DPA can increase their talking points.

Watching Breaking Bad, oh no, I was watching da Bears and Pittsburgh and then, somehow, someway, no clue how this happened but I think it's probably because she had the remote... we're watching the Emmys.

And so I said what I thought. And then she talked to me about how I watched football yesterday, didn't you? Didn't you?!

http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lcxv4nhh571qzozj1.jpg

And I have no idea what happened the rest of the game. I saw the final score just now on Espn.com.

/owned and honesty is not the best policy if it means watching the Emmys.

Busy time of year for anyone who performs music ... guy who leads our group started rehearsals with a display showing his DVR strategy ... " it is possible to watch a football game in 60 minutes."

I have the really good AUA overnight and am going to bring my wife. Has anyone done this here or some such place? Curious if she can expedite through customs with me on either end. She is not an air line person. I'm thinking I will also need our own ground transportation if she is not able to expedite as we couldn't expect others to accommodate the extra time we would need.
