1. Yes.
2. Sort of....The "fifth freedom" refers to a DL code share number on another airline's flights operated as 3rd and 4th freedom segments. 3. True. Shiz's answer to Bar raises a question. If 5th freedom (in this case) refers to DAL code on another airlines 3rd and 4th freedom flights, does that count toward DAL fulfilling its contractual Narita slot usage? |

How many mainline jets do we have right now? 727ish? So is 223 > 153?

That still doesn't change the fact that the previous contract allowed a higher amount of 76 seaters. With 88 717s coming we will exceed 767 airframes anyway. Which still doesn't matter, because 255 is a higher number.

Did you read the previous contract? They would have had to park 70 seaters in order to get more 76 seaters. Our new contract lets them park 50 seaters to get more 76 seaters. It was a loss.
What's the count up to on first time captain bids at DAL since C2012? Close to 200 I believe, and the first 717 hasn't entered service yet. |

It is this limitation that Delta wants to get rid of...and I believe DALPA has just agreed to. Carl |

At issue: What is the future if DAL Pacific flying, and does it have NRT as the focus? How many Delta pilot jobs are covered by the current language and how many jobs can be protected with modernization o the current language? What is more important, protecting NRT slots (that they can ditch anyway) or increasing and protecting pilot block hours for Delta pilots in the Pacific theater? That is what the MEC will have to decide. I suggest offering your perspective to your reps, mine definitely were seeking out input all last week in the lounge. |

DAL code on other airlines does not count toward the Delta usage of 316 NRT slots per week. The ability for Delta to put its code on other airlines to fly from NRT to other cities in Asia is only available to Delta if Delta utilizes at least 316 slots per week for Delta flights. If Delta doesn't utilize 316 slots per week for Delta flights, then Delta loses its ability to put Delta code on other airlines to fly flights from NRT to other Asian cities.
