You have a good point but this give and take has presumably already occurred. Negotiations are now over. The MEC sent out an Alert that we have a new LOA and scheduled a meeting to vote on ratification.
At that point I'd like to know what's in it.

I agree it shouldn't come from a leak. The MEC should put it out. But obviously they decided not to.

You have a good point as well.

The only exception might be my theory about whether any fine-tuning can occur after the MEC is considering a TA or LOA. I've asked before, and I've been told that negotiators wouldn't get sent back in. I don't believe this to be true.

Too bad. You're missing a pretty good game.

I'm thinking more like a weasel.

You leak selectively, parts that are true, but often out of context, and obviously just the bad parts. then you squeal the entire time, and you say you voted against it, and that makes you a hero?
To use an extreme example to the contrary, obamacare.

It is a shame that political siding or infighting has any effect in ongoing union work.

OK, I see what you mean. That might be different. You're talking about an act that wasn't really leaked all that much... to the people voting on it.

Is it your contention that if management wants something, we must give it because you just can't see what leverage we have to fight it?

Wow.

Carl
OK... so we force them to stand that codeshare down.. then what? We lose connecting passengers which ultimately means that we could possibly downguage equipment into NRT. Yup... held the line and all that feel good stuff, but did you really use that leverage? Methinks not.

You are stellar at lineal thinking Carl. It is when you have more than one piece on the chessboard where you seize.

Wow indeed.

It's a business decision based on whether Delta can get that protective language removed from our Section 1. If they can scare us (again) into removing the language, then one business decision will be made. If not, then another business decision will be made.

Carl
Focus Carl... you are getting emotional again. And you still haven't answered the question. What is our leverage?

Adding salt into the wound, the Vikings charter to London for Sunday's game is not on the official airline of the Vikings, rather it's on our new subsidiary Virgin Atlantic. The hits just keep coming!

#not holding out hope we improve our pacific language
Virgin Atlantic is all about access to LHR. It is a very tightly controlled very expensive airport to gain access to. This JV is going to be very complicated because of all the players. My bet is that we are not going to see much similarity to the AF/KLM JV because VA isn't going to give up those slots to DAL just because we are a partial owner. Where we are probably going to benefit... and there are many here that are going to go into high warble... will be thru domestic growth. They are going to feed us on this end, and our part in the equation will be limited to flying the slots we have to LHR... as a destination. They have little beyond flying. We probably won't see the international growth because of those slots...

Just dot connecting. It ain't rocket surgery either.
