Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

The 320/319 fleet consists of 126 aircraft. Imagine if Delta, for some reason, were to offer vacation buy back to everyone? A former airline that I'm familiar with used this type of stuff as a staffing tool. Now Delta knows what kind of result they might expect.
My schedule for Jan is weird. I fly multiple back to back trips, 14 of the first 16 days, and then off the rest of the month. ***!
I'm trying to wrap my brain around our current and future reserve obligations. I'm just about 9 weeks from starting my 28 th year and find myself on reserve in January in ATL on the 320. I REALLY don't like reserve but here I am. Here is why. Delta offered all 320. Captains that had January vacation to sell it back to the company. Apparently to cover 717 trips and charter ops with the new FARs.
System wide- 690-vacation days were given back. 89 pilots participated.
In ATL, 10 pilots participated for a total of 71
That equates to 38 percent of ATL320A pilots on reserve! Even if you're just about to start your 28th year! Yikes

No kidding. As someone else adroitly commented, this is the FAA's version of Obamacare. Intended to care for you but, ultimately, makes it all for the worse. I can't see how I'll be less fatigued until my schedule is complete. Then, when I'd like to fly, I can't. I'll be timed out and can't pick up anything. Stupid and no value or real rest added. Our govt is out of control.

BTW. I start 13 out of 16 days tomorrow. That's standard stuff in ATL
Other than trips that are currently open the first several days in January in ATL, there is virtually nothing available. After well over 27 years of service I certainly didn't expect to be on reserve even one month. Especially on a narrow body.

We should be pushing for higher trip rigs. If they want us to cool our heels in a hotel because of 117, fine. Pay me. 14 days off should equate to 85 hours a month, not 72. I think with the leverage we have now, we should apply pressure to increase the pay per duty period, not **** it away on some commuter friendly reserve scheme.

Nope. 4 day followed by 2 off then 4 day with one off then five day. 3 day rotations with 30 hour sits have strung together for 9 straight days so many times I can't remember.
The last time I was on reserve on this equipment was when I first checked out on it in 2002
