This is why we will never recapture anything meaningful as a pilot group. Look how easy it is for the company to get pilots to sell their negotiated vacation for short term bucks. Sad.
First, that vacation is theirs to decide what to do with it, not yours.

Second, If they had no plans, why not make a few extra $ and pay off/ down some bills.

Now, did I personally sell any back, no. Was I offered, no. Smart for others to? Who knows, not in their shoes and none of my business.

The point is it's my vacation and I will do what I want with it, and I dont want or need anyone telling me what I can or cant do.

If you voted for Contract 2012 and now have buyers remorse...

Although I wish we did not have vacation sell back, if you are going to go after a pilot for exercising contractual rights to make extra cash, you better be pure of heart. The same case could be made for any pilot that flies over 75 hours, picks up a green slip, flies over what the pick up would be in a non vacation month etc... Any of those help the company in the same way.

Thanks for the reminder Dalad. I did that late last night after I got home from Christmas shopping and the trip was gone this morning, leaving me with a 57hr. month!

But now it's 8:42am and they haven't run the PCS for Jan yet?

I thought the next mo. runs start at 0700 on the 20th?

Hmmmm....

Too lazy to look, but I believe the very first one (the one on the 20th) starts later in the day, and then from that point on they start at 0700. Might be remembering that wrong.

To be clear, I'm not going after ANY pilot that is exercising his/her contractual right. Just trying to express some frustration with being forced to reserve in a category that I had no expectation of reserve. Almost 40 percent of us. Also, lets be clear this wasn't truly optional. I was informed that none of the buy backs were inversely forced but would haves if necessary. Just hoping this doesn't become a more common staffing tool.

As of 8:58 they have not run Jan. They either started late or are bogged down by FAR 117 conflicts.
