Probably because he doesn't think you'd listen. J29, I like you, I think you are a nice guy, but someday you are going to realize that there is truth on both sides of the partition. You seem to want to believe in the glossed over.
If you can believe in your heart of hearts that this loa somehow protects you and your future, that's fine. Slots do not equal block hours and block hours do not equal jobs except in one snapshot in time. This thing is in the history books. It's only written in pencil anyway. Any line pilot that isn't freaked out by the assault on our scope clause that is constant and continuous needs to have his head examined. Looking forward to the next scope cave in that is spun as a win. I'd like to hear a reasonable, fact based argument that proves his claim. I've yet to see one from anyone. I've seen opinion and claims from one side, and I've seen factual numbers from the other. I've never claimed ALPA to be perfect, and I've never claimed that they're infallible. ALPA has it's wrongs, but I still haven't been convinced that the alternative is anymore then a "might be" or "hope it's better" option. |

Need 9900, you can now still use 10,500. Got it thanks! |

Not commenting on the LOA per se, but block hours are absolutely no indicator of net pilot jobs required. It takes far fewer pilots to fly US-Pacific point-to-point than to man the NRT hub.
And the race to a 9,000 pilot airline continues... How many pilots to fly from NRT-SPN, or Gua, or HNL? How many pilots does it take to over fly NRT? 85% vs 54% |

How'd those pilots get to NRT?

Forget it..
Johnso29 wants hard numbers that don't exist (we have to pass to LOA to find out what's in the LOA) and I'm trying to argue that this LOA represents a fundamental change to our union's scope philosophy that's going to continue to bite us in the ass for the rest of our careers. I'll be back this weekend. At this point, my main worry is that my DVR doesn't have the space to keep up with my absence from the 61 hour Breaking Bad marathon. |
Any 717 drivers have problems with the VFD thumb drive not working? It worked once now it says cfg file missing but everything is there.

I still can't believe something as significant as this LOA isn't being put out for memrat. That is terrible.
Less than pleased with the 85% thing, too... I'm interested to see the document promoting... er...marketing...er... giving me details on it. ;) |
