Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Recently we had three FAA guys going over our plane with a fine tooth comb. Their combined examination determined a megaphone on the aft bulkhead was secured incorrectly. Don't know if the one guy will be able to make do without his compadres today.

Had a Fed in my jumpseat last week from IAD that was being sent home because of the impending shutdown. He said that if it happens (it has), that the chances if having a fed show up on your flight will be virtually zero. Didn't ask about scheduled Fed rides though.

You know, there are usually a row of 757 & 767s over at the hanger and north ramp, suggest that he go inspect any and or all of those aircraft. But while you're boarding? Gimme' a break! Maintenance was really PO'ed about it, but, he was an FAA maintenance inspector. I wasn't about to press to test, even though I thought he was on a one man crusade. There are two bolts, one on each seat track. If you are an ER guy/gal, you will be surprised how many are missing.
