Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I did it several times in my Delta career.
Last time was in Jan 2011, but, according to my public math, 687 pilots left Delta without replacement since then, so I don't think dropping the whole line would ever be possible.
We are so much leaner now that reverses will be capped.
All because most of us would rather work a lot more (for a little more in pay) than vote no.
That is exactly what management wanted.
Rant over, sorry!

Remember, the company only cares about the number of pilots available to fly the schedule every month... Not the total number of pilots on the seniority list.

Does it? I've got plenty of 30 hour rest periods in a hotel. Have you looked at the rotations? I did not think PBS would build you an "illegal" schedule.
I know when you pick up, thus forcing a drop for legality in the following month you lose pay ... but, you did not pick up anything.

You may get a 3 day trip that includes a 30 hour layover in it. (I don't know your category, so they might not exist in yours). Scheduling will figure it out - much more likely to have one of your 3 days of reserve be a "rest" day than they do anything with the scheduled trips in Jan.
Ah, I see what you mean. Good point

Going from reserve in December to a line in January. If a reserve assignment at the end of Dec. makes a trip scheduled in January illegal to operate, what's the pay consequences?
The specifics are I have 3 reserve days at the end of dec and 6 days of work starting on the 1st, which violates the 30 in 168 rest rule. I'm hoping they drop a reserve day to comply, but if they fly me and drop part of a January trip am I pay protected in any way?

In the above situation the 30 hour rule may not apply. I don't have my laptop with me but DALPA put out that some rules will not look back into DEC such as 100 in 28 days. I would find that briefing and research it to prevent surprises.
Looks like the MEC has responded to SD's letter regarding 117 and reserve.
The era of "proactive engagement," may be drawing to a close.

Most of you have received the recent All Pilots Bulletin from SVP-Flight Operations, Captain Steve Dickson, regarding the Company position on FAR 117’s interaction with several provisions of the existing PWA. ALPA is actively negotiating with the Company to reach an agreement on the new FAR 117 regulations and our PWA work rules.
With regard to the Company's publication, the Company and the Association disagree about the effect of the new FARs on some of the current work rules.
ALPA has informed the Company that the Association is retaining all its rights under the PWA. Until there is an agreement, Contract Administration will continue to enforce the current language in the PWA.
If you have a reserve rotation removed from your line due to the Company asserting that your acknowledgement was untimely, please contact Contract Administration immediately.

Welcome to the "new" Delta. Smells a lot like the "old" Northwest.
Ha, I totally went in the backdoor and evidently left too soon because things weren't finished yet.
What I mean is the schedule was slightly different than what I saw.
