It's not an F4. Those are blue and have a propeller. Unless you're thinking of the A-4 Corsair II, which they painted gray so you couldn't see them parked on gray aircraft carriers.

Pretty sure that's a Me-262 because it has engines under the wings and it's parked under trees.

That contraption produced a lot of heroes. Plucking our guys out of a hot lead storm takes... something else entirely. I do believe we may have a couple, at least one still here. Was fortunate to have shared a cockpit with those guys.

FTB... Thanks for all the laughs. I'd probably break ribs laughing on a trip with you. I do hear the LCA's on that mcboeing are great. You do have to have flown in the commuters (props) to understand how funny it all is...

Me too. One guy I can remember in particular. The only time I ever saw him get... flustered is not quite the right word... is when Jane Fonda somehow got worked into the conversation...

Agreed. I once flew with a F/O on the DC-8 for a whole month. On the last trip of the month sitting in a bar a friend of his starts talking about his second Mig kill. This guy flew Thuds, had 2 mig kills, Silver Star and I didn't find out until trip number four at the end of the month. A true soft spoken professional.

Luckily there are still guys like this at Delta, we just don't realize it because they don't brag about it.

Hey T & FTB,

I retired in Nov12, and think I was one of the last RVN dinosaurs....as far as multitasking, my first CO in country could break off target, slip just enough to weathervane a pair of 2.75's back on target.....I didn't believe it either, until I saw him do it.

Regards,
BG

I just wish I could sing and play guitar at the same time.....

This is what usually happens when I try:

Does it make them stealthy or something?

That's the F15C, C for cone. The enemy couldn't see how many bombs you were carrying

tsquare,

There are a lot of chopper guys now that have that ability. We've been at war for over a decade and many of the guys have done multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As for the F-15 guys, just explain to them that the only person that cares what they did before they walked through the door at XYZ airline is their mother. (although I do have a bias towards fighter guys as most think big picture)
