GS question

I'm going from holding a line this month to bidding reserve next month. If I get a GS that spills into next bid, how is that paid? I have the first 5 days off next month, and the last 4 off this month.

For the portion of the trip that operates in your regular line month, you'll receive double pay, no credit. For the portion that operates on your X-days next month, you'll receive single pay, no credit on top of your guarantee. For the portion that operates on your on-call days next month, you'll receive single pay and credit offset against your guarantee.

Your stretch of 5 X-days will be moved so as to begin nine or 13 hours after the end of your GS trip.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in this case, I think scheduling would drop your resv day with a PD and you wont get paid for that resv day.

Does anyone know if DALPA has been successful in getting pay restored for these P/Ds?

If not, have grievances been filed?

I'm wondering the same thing. Has anyone "tested the waters" so to speak?

Guys,

I found this in the contract but are the procedures spelled out anywhere else in a more user friendly format?

Thanks

This is true but, the question was about the first day of Reserve after a non-fly/work day. Thus you are required to check your schedule at 0200 base time on the first day (PWA 23.S.1.d.2). This is why SD said you couldn't be on call or given a trip before 1200 on your first day.

According to the Dickson version of the contract there is no longer a last non-fly day schedule check at all. You just go on long call at midnight.
If they have given you a trip for that first day then you can avoid a midnight phone call by checking your schedule before you hit the rack. Otherwise they are going to call you just after midnight.

I too would be interested to hear from DALPA on where we stand with this situation. Is there a grievance? Are guys getting their pay docked and DALPA just saying "Tough luck. Hang tight while we're negotiating"?
What's going on?

Alan explained it pretty well. I would only add that, if you get a greenslip that extends beyond your last day off in the reserve month, any trip credit also goes against your reserve guarantee. (In other words, it will not count towards GS pay.)
