What a bunch of double-talk.
He's my Senator, too. I used to be a Rubio fan. I guess that's because I didn't know anything about him. Between this and his immigration buffoonery, he can SMD. For that matter, every politician can SMD. /rant... thanks for listening. |

Thank you for contacting me in regard to the proposed Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance facility at AbuDhabi International Airport (AUH). I appreciate hearing from you and would like to take this opportunity to address your concerns. As you may know, in 2013 the Department of Homeland Security proposed a CBP preclearance facility at AUH in order to mitigate security threats by extending our zone of security and in collaboration with international partners, prohibit potential threats before they reach the United States. The U.S. has operated preclearance offices beyond our borders since 1952; today our government operates a total of 15 international facilities. Screening passengers abroad, rather than upon entry into the U.S. reduces the risk of attack by helping to keep dangerous people and goods off aircraft bound for our country. In addition to keeping our country safe, any preclearance facility should also seek to reduce congestion at major airports in the U.S. and enhance our domestic aviation interests. I strongly support preclearance operations and the benefits they provide to facilitating travel into the U.S. However, the establishment of preclearance operations should not jeopardize jobs in the U.S. or provide a competitive advantage to foreign interests. Although I am not a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee which allocates funding for CBP preclearance facilities, please know I will keep your concerns in mind should relevant legislation come before the full Senate. Thank you again for contacting me. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Florida in the United States Senate. Sincerely, Marco Rubio United States Senator |

I was probably being a little grumpy. But when I take a look around, I see that compared to whats happening at just about every other airline, we are pretty lucky. I just didn't see the need to question what seems to be a very successful merger. I'm going to go get a cup of coffee to remove the grumpiness. :D http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8bjveCmiA1qa6lp8.gif But it's 80. He's my friend. If he was in the hospital I'd be there for him. http://washingtoncouldlearnalot.com/...ad-panda-2.gif So I'm back. |

I was never really a "fan" per se, but I thought he had some cajones to do what's right. (Then he got his beltway lobotomy) He really lost me when it became evident with every speech he was talking about how his parents had emigrated from Cuba with nothing, blah blah blah, and how his father had worked ten jobs a day, blah blah blah... and now he wants to allow more free range socialist voters attached to a 900 page immigration bill that will have to be passed before it is read and everyone knows what's in it.... and we all know.... KNEW how THAT would work out now, didn't we?
/rant... thanks for listening. |

For that matter, every politician can SMD. With very few exceptions, all politicians suck. It would be great to be able to vote for great/good/OK politicians. Fact is, we are pretty much free to choose from the least sucky politician. And sometimes there is a huge difference between the two on the ballot. But you know what? We get the politicians we deserve. The Pols do what works. The American public is uniformed and easily swayed. So is it the politicians fault? Or the fault of the masses? Scoop  |

Unfortunately the only thing our politicians listen to is money. |
Someone said in communism the powerful get rich, in capitalism the rich get powerful.
It's not a good sign when these Senators go to expensive DC, make 174k and end up multi millionaires is a bad trend vector. |

The difference between the two is very minimal these days, and not in a good way. I cannot believe how that abu dhabi point was justified. Unbelievable.
Done. Tired. Can't even watch any more. |
