Guys and girls, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE report unsatisfactory hotel accommodations to DAL via an ASR and shoot ALPA an email. I'm tired of feeling like the only one complaining about hotels not honoring our contract. Maybe they really don't know what our PWA says so shame on DAL and ALPA for not setting the requirements with them! I'm sick and tired of getting rooms right off the elevator or across from the vending area/ice machines!
Please take a few minutes to be an active member, the more reports submitted the sooner things get fixed. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. Matter of fact I emailed our hotel chairman because on certain layovers the Capt and I have been getting the 2nd floor next to the street rooms while the FA's have been getting the 7th floor quiet side of the building rooms. His answer was that they try to put us in the quieter rooms however it doesn't state in our contract. My question was shouldn't we, as the people opperating the pointy end of the plane, get the quieter rooms every time. Answer was it is up to the hotel. |
Where's a cheap beer in NYC now that the blarney stone is closed? Near the long layo. Thx

One place was across the street, right turn, walk 3 blocks and the entry door was not on the main drag, but the 1st door in on the side street. They had $1 drafts at happy hour. The other place was in hells kitchen, dollar drafts and free hot dogs. |

Seaweed sushi place next door has two for one $4 Sapporo, but you'll be the only English speaker in the joint. Sapporo on draft is yummy. They get their water from the North side of the Island, so don't worry about Fukishima while you enjoy a pint. There is a lot of cheap food and beverage over in that general vicinity. |
Nashville short layover next to the elevator and that darn crew coffee pot. Louisville downtown layover next to the ice machine. This stuff is not in our pwa. The details are in the contracts with the hotel. We are not to be near the noise makers.

I was at one of our hotels where I noticed that the F/O and I got rooms at the far end of the hallway away from the elevators. Nice and quiet. The next morning I asked the front desk if they do that on purpose and at first he got very defensive with me until I told him that I liked that set-up. He said the Flight Attendants complain constantly about rooms at the end of hallways, particularly near Exit stairs because they feel it makes them more suceptible to attacks....never would have even thought of it that way.

Going through some of my older cartoon files and came across a few that y'all may enjoy...this one is from the period when a Cape Verde operation was being kicked around..."Dark Continent Pilots"
