[QUOTE=Bucking Bar;1510090]Talking about the old Atlanta Airport, anyone remember this?
Ahhhh... The Bricklin, safe as being in a mother's arms. I had one briefly, not one of my more astute purchases... I think there was a Lum's up those stairs, way before escalators.

That's the old Atlanta Terminal. There should be a big map on the floor. I remember playing on it as a kid.

I'm willing to bet when that's complete, the company will petition the FAA for 'single category' amongst the 717/88/90 equipment. Thereby, further increasing the efficiency of the pilot group.

Just my opinion.

GJ

The fms on the 717 is completely different from the format and logic of the 88s Pegasus system and the flight control panel logic is different.

as Bar will tell you 88 pilots are already overdosing on Excedrin Migrane, adding the 717 and swapping back and forth would be a killer. the FAA already said yes back in 2010 and back then they'd only need to send 1500 guys to proficiency training every 90 days.

i used to think it wouldnt be a big deal to jump between them but theyre very different.

I'd think the 764 and 7ER would combine easier and they haven't done that yet.

I asked the FAA just a minute ago about combining the 717 with the rest of the mongrels and video'd the response:

So how are they flying them around as a separate category but only 1 plane?

I'm not sure what that means, but we've got two (and three within a few days). And 4,5, & 6 show up quickly.

No common category because there's nothing in common with the FMS/Nav system. It would be like having a 737/A320 common category.
