Sure will! As long as you're not trying to drop open time into a day that is below coverage, you'll get the swap.

Thanks, new to line holding.:)

It used to be 8 or older, but at the time of the merger and the relaxing of the dress code, they changed the age to six.

Ref:

Look at the pass policy and its about half way down the page.

I don't think this is correct. I just dropped an entire 4 day by APD one day then picked up a white slip overlying the last two days of the dropped trip. You cannot pick up anything on your APD day, however.

My bad. :o

In the spirit of comic relief, here's a few things not to do during your gate PA:

Should be interesting. It sounds like the SWA guys may have effectively taken a pay cut (because of overstaffing and less premium pay opportunities) since they published their data a few years ago. It'll be interesting to see some more current responses... if they respond.

From the SWA guys I've talked to lately, that's exactly what has happened. They're overstaffed, and the opportunity for premium pay has dropped substantially.

Today I'm happy with 2 1/2 DXB per month when I can hold that. 10 days, 75 hours and lots of beers shared with my dogs at sunset, from my dock, after a day of sailing. Beats a Greenie any day.

Much like Delta when open time drops SW pilots start grabbing what they can at straight rates instead of 1.5 rates. The huge difference between SW and Delta is they have no cap so you can pick up to FAR limits at straight rates. That leads to rushing every flight to keep block hours down and allow for more trips for pay under their system.

Odd that an overstaffed airline would be in the midst of hiring.
