The SD memo was DOA. They aren't even close to getting full compliance with a 2 hour leash while on LC. That's why they are trying to give at least 16 hours notice so that they at least have a somewhat reasonable case to make. Inventing a 2 hour leash actually hurts their cause when this goes to grievance. Attempting to enforce it makes it a slam dunk win for the pilots. At the very least nothing earlier than noon on day one is a huge QOL improvement. Absolutely massive. And that's what we have as a baseline now to begin reserve QOL negotiations from. That better be involitile and better not be traded for anything else. Going back to mandatory day off schedule checks so we can get 5AM shows is a thing of the past and I don't think our negotiators are dumb enough to give that back.

The other open issue is LC RSV callback times. The fantasy memo says 2 hours, but that was DOA before the ink dried. As of now its basically 19 hours, and even that doesn't resolve the notification issue. So unless we really drop the ball, it looks like LC in the future will be significantly greater than 12 hours as well, with nothing earler on day one than noon.

Wondering if any DL pilots could help out on a nonrev/load check question?

My wife and I are looking at JFK/TLV for a vacation (DL468, DL469). I am a pilot for 'OO' and can see loads and list us OK, but there is a warning saying that the flight will depart with empty seats to take revenue cargo. Ok fair enough... does anybody have any insight as to how badly this can be weight restricted this time of year? How many empty seats would be considered "safe"?

The flight is on a 744 with about 10hr block going there, 13 coming back.

Good info. Thanks for sharing. Say what you may, there is no better airline CEO currently operating than RA. I thought it was interesting what he said about "debt is not our friend", the direct opposite of the old guard at NWA (Al Checchi and Gary Wilson who famously said "debt is our friend" then siphoned off a lot of good NWA assets).

That message has been there for 2 years from when it was a ER. Weight is never a problem unless it is like 100℉+.

That's not me, but two punks I race against out training. Great footage shot from the coach's boat. If you come out with me we'll go fast if there's wind, and I promise to to finish like they did!
Timbo, I don't know much about sailing. Curious how fast boats like that in the video go?

Another scenario. My overnight cancels as a line holder. How long am I expected to hang out at the airport waiting for them to figure out my schedule?

Hey we don't know that. After she was found guilty she was found innocent before being found re-guilty. I'd still risk it though. Besides if a little effeminate European (probably soccer fan too) can survive I think I can make it. I'd totally risk it. Like totally.

If you build em big enough, foil em, and let her rip in 25 knot winds in SF Bay...45 knots or so!

Course, then the pitchpoles get even more dramatic!
