Could someone please explain what the difference between the yes/no options for "award flying on 7am PCS run" when doing generic white slipping with parameters. If the trip meets your selected parameters aren't you going to be awarded the trip regardless of whether or not you selected yes or no?
But don't quote me. |
I thought by selecting yes you are then on the hook and obligated to check your schedule after the 7am PCS run and if there is a next day trip then you are on the hook for it, no proffer. Not sure. After 4 years with Delta I could sure use a PWA for Dummies book.

LOL. But if the guy calls in sick at 9am I can still get it as a WS same day. Either way I'm going to get it so I don't see the difference between the yes/no choice?
If you check no then PCS will not award the next day trip to you and , if it isn't awarded to someone who checked yes on the 0700 run, they may call you manually(seniority order of course for the WS) to offer the next day trip. The difference there is that if you don't want the next day trip they have placed on your sched then don't take the call and don't contact them....you have no obligation in that case if they could not contact you. PWA 23.E.3. PCS requests will be processed: a. automatically by the PCS system for: 1) beyond next day, and 2) next day at pilot’s request (0700E run only). 4. A pilot who submits a PCS request for a beyond next day rotation, or a next-day rotation under Section 23 E. 3. a. 2), is responsible for ascertaining whether his request has been granted and acknowledging his award. Crew Scheduling is not required to notify a pilot of such an award. Bottom line: If you check yes make sure your WS criteria reflect something you are really willing to fly because if PCS awards it for next day it is yours. If you check no then they may still call for a next day WS but as long as you don't answer the phone you can see what it is and then decide. If you don't want it just don't call them back or acknowledge the trip on icrew. |
