It's 3 degrees in Chicago. My buds there would kill for a forecast like that. :D

Ha! I guess they are planning for another 20 hour commute.
What happened the other week was a complete anomaly. Typically snow storms hit overnight here, so school is cancelled the next day and work, too. That one was supposed to be relatively minor with only a couple inches, but everyone hit eject right around the same time when they realized it was sticking. They knew it was, just tried to put off cancelling anything. If on any given day with perfectly good road conditions, everyone bailed out from work the way they did that day, you're looking at a 5 hour jam. Add in the icy conditions, and you'll have what we had no matter what. What's the solution? It doesn't matter what any politician tries to blame on another... pretreat the roads and cancel early. It only happens a couple of days a year here. Had they cancelled school and proactively done similar with work, tuesday would have come and gone with minimal activity in town and things would have crawled back to life on wednesday. Take the loss and try it again the next day. |

That's a question I have, too. Why milk? Wouldn't beer be better? :D

bump... anyone know?
For line construction purposes you are required to have an 11 hour break in duty following a duty period that does not include an ocean crossing. Based on the info you posted, it appears you could do it back to back assuming it is not an ocean crossing. |
Who do you call if you are unable to commute in for CQ.

What will be different this week is ice versus snow. Hilly Atlanta is covered with trees. Ice gets heavy, tree limbs break, power lines fall, no electricity --- for days. You have to be ready to live without power for a week. That's the difference from snow events.
So, hunker down, drink beer, stay humble. While buying bread and milk, my neighbor reported the lady in the grocery line in back of him had industrial sized box of condoms. Storm could last nine months. Always be prepared.;) |

I believe you only require 9 hour between rotations per the contract. The FARs may require 10 to start a new duty period. I think it would be ok.
Schwanker White slip/ SWTP is less. |
