WSC is "When Scheduling Calls". Its put out by DALPA and was just recently updated. Very useful!! If you can't find it on the DALPA site, PM me and I'll get you a copy.

Dragon,

On a side note................love that avatar!!!!:D

Yes the international shortcall definately needs to be fixed! There are many "international" trips that are 2 man crews. I've never heard of it but getting called in the second 12 hours of a 24 hour shortcall for a 5+ hour flight is asking for trouble.

Heyas ACL,

It wasn't always like this. It used to be that if you got removed from you trip for training, you only needed to be "reasonably available" for the remainder of the trip you were removed from.

The "another free reserve" thing came thanks to the BQ contract.

Lately they call you in for a 24 hr SC, then when you get there and look at your schedule you realize they have chopped it to end at 2am instead of noon (yes, ER international NYC). Then they just get you for another SC starting at noon again. I.O.W. they get you on SC for 48 hrs straight. Pure madness if you ask me, and I hope someone will take some action against this crazyness soon.

That blows! On the positive side, I've never had 6 short calls. I get used every reserve block.

And at 2 AM they know all the flights are past the point of no return so they can stop SC, give you 10 hrs of rest and then start it over. That is pure genius! It sucks for us though.
