California has some favorable employee laws in their books.

California Leave Laws

If you were LA based, it works out to up to 6 weeks of benefits. Bonding with a new child is included.

Yep, CA has some laws that are very nice for the working man. I know a few airlines that looked at not having bases their because of these laws. (DAL is not one of them)

OK ACL, I'll bite...

Somehow not scared

UAL
AMR
DAL
Southwest
Alaska
Fedex
UPS
Jetblue
Virgin America
SkyWest
American Eagle

Scared: Continental and USAir and the SkyWest twin ;-)

CA rocks for FMLA, you even get paid 60% of your highest pay of the last year, I will sorely miss that horrible, communist entitlement!

Cheers

NWA was sued a few years back over FMLA and lost big time. Hence the reason the pilots there had very liberal FMLA rules. Heck my wife does the FMLA for our state government and she went to a national conference in DCA on FMLA and they used the NWA ruling to show how get yourself into trouble over FMLA.

Well, they have been pretty open about it. No need for details since they have given most of them away.

Look for the 90/320 shift to occur. I would expect a few 777 slots as well. (just a guess)

Having used FMLA at two different airlines all I will say is that you will have no problem getting a leave at Delta but they also do not follow the "rules" as closely as others have chosen to do.

Take a look at PWA Section 13.H, Family Leave.

It is a contractual right as long as you have 540 pay hours in the previous 12 months. Contractual Family Leave mirrors the provisions of the Federal Family Medical Leave Act.

You don't have to beg. It's in the book. Best of luck on your new life!

For overcoat buying planning purposes, when are they going to move the DC-9 to ATL?
