I've got CQ next month and see a different name on my schedule for the training hotel.

Is it just a name change, or have we changed hotels?

There is only the Staffing Formula, which requires a minimum number of pilots per position, not category. Reserve Required, on the other hand, goes by category.

Therein lies the rub -- while the Company is required to have a minimum number of pilots system wide in a position, there is no requirement to balance the flying in a position out among the bases in the same proportion as the pilots in those bases. From what I've seen, when a category has enough pilots to satisfy the Staffing Formula, there are more reserves available than required throughout the month. When a category does not, there are also insufficient reserves.

I think there may be a calculation issue at play- NYC 320B has several days where it shows as low as zero res available on days where there is zero open time but if you count the guys awarded/unstacked reserve on those days there are over ten. - no one has been able to drop or move yet so the available should at least aporoximate the awards.

I'm planning a follow up call to Scheds/ union tomorrow.

There are now three training hotels: Deltanet - Flight Operations - 757/767 - training - Hotel Information & Booking Flights

It changes everything. A Q is not a true open time trip. It is a trip that another pilot is trying to drop on days with insufficient reserve coverage. It is only available for pick-up... not for swapping.
