If you're a military retiree or reservist, the Soldier's, Sailor's, Airman's, & Marine's Club ($ varies according to rank) in Manhattan can't be beat. Otherwise, I recommend one of the crashpads you'll find listed on the bulletin board in the pilot's lounge. My favorite is Crash Pad Oasis (crashpadoasis.com) ($50), but I don't know whether they've yet fixed all the water damage they sustained from a 3rd-floor flood a while back. It's one subway stop away from Jamaica Station. My second-favorite is Lyle's Crash Pad ($40). It's in a sketchy neighborhood, but Lyle picks you up and drops you off at the airport; and it's nice inside. Just order delivery. Lyle got hired by a commuter airline a while back, so I'm not sure whether he still picks you up. You can pm me for the number. There's someone named Jill who rents mostly to flight attendants at $25/night. It's a decent neighborhood, and I thought it was a good deal until I had to sit through a Kardashians marathon one Christmas day. Never again. I don't happen to have Jill's number anymore, but someone will. No-Hassle Castle rents by the month. It was $250 when I used it, and it was a nice place in a decent neighborhood. I don't have the number, but there'll be a flyer in the lounge. If you're coming off a redeye and are going out again that night, the 5 Towns Hotel rents day-rooms at $50. They pick you up. 516.371.2600. I hope this helps, and welcome to New York! |

What could go wrong? Seems to be working well as he tries to line up with the runway.

I don't know of anyone at Atlas who knows anything....but we found out yesterday that one of Delta's Chief Pilots (I think that was his position) is now the Atlas CP....and there have been several guys who have been commuting on DAL in the last week or so...when they checked in to get their boarding pass, the DAL kiosk said something like "Welcome to the new Delta, Atlas Air Partnership..." we don't know what that means and if it is connected to our new CP....
DAL has been doing maintenance on their small 767 fleet since 2012: DELTA TECHOPS SIGNS MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT WITH ATLAS AIR What airport were they commuting out of? |
Maybe a new corporate travel account?

Anyone with experience shipping boxes on FedEx? What kind of discount do we get? Thanks.

The only "rumor" I have heard about NBA charters is that if they don't pony up more money, they can go elsewhere for them. The airbusses that are configured will make more money with regular configuration and revenue service

That's what I heard as well. RA told them to go buy their own 319's and we would run them, but they can't find any used 319's. So then we were going to sell them the old 757's and run them for them, but they were too expensive. So finally the latest I've heard is we are thinking of taking the old 757's and running them as dedicated sports charter aircraft. I don't think the NBA deal is as big of a cash cow as everyone thinks it is.
