You know I was looking at this picture and the first thing that popped into my mind was... can a 739 do this route?

I am telling you my idea is a good one, something wide for these long thin routes.

Go 782.

Don't forget that the :30 postflight does not count for FARs as rest or duty so you can go to 13:30 before extending or 15:30 after extending. You are 2:04 away from extending and 4:04 away from being done involuntarily.

I hate FAR 117. I believe it was a huge step back in rest issues and causes more fatigue. It looked good on paper until you read about the 2 hour extension and not including postflight in duty period which essentially extends every table 2:30. There's a reason why no airlines had to increase manning when it came out.

So far I haven't had a captain yet refuse to extend. Once our contract language goes into effect, it will be a pretty rare circumstance for me to extend. 13:30 and 14:30 are long enough days IMHO.

Just wait until they start using wheel spin up for block time. That's another 5-15 minutes per flight per day of lost block time merely by using a lawyer wordsmith trick. Who knows, maybe they'll even double up with tow ins at every gate too.

You last statement makes no sense? "Sign this and grow?" Whatever information you're getting at the regional level, you should take it for what it's worth. OBTW, Delta IS growing.

I was referring to the 717s, which a Delta was getting regardless of your contract vote.

No. I enjoy flying with guys who blindly swallow anything Delta serves them. Gotta compete the mission.

Now THAT makes foe a long trip.

You know that, as fact? If so, you're much more connected than anyone on this anonymous web board.

They should have never gave up the additional 76 seat jets, however, that point is probably moot now that DCI is coming apart. Sailingfun is right about C2012, that restructure money would likely not be on the table now.

Regarding duty days...recall that until November, the PWA duty table currently found in Section 12 is still in effect until the implementation of the 5:15 ADG.
