NonFlyingLines!!!
Since we had such a great success with the NFL's do you think the company will bring back the SIL's for December? What about DALPA coming up with a counter offer instead of 55 hrs maybe 35 or 40 hrs?
Company was looking for 299 NFL's in December and got 15!!! |

Delta’s third quarter financial results - a $51 million dollar profit excluding special items - show the benefits of the airline’s cautious strategy during shaky economic times, Richard said. Delta’s net loss for the September quarter was $161 million, or 19 cents per share.
“Our ability to earn a profit for the quarter shows we are making sound decisions for our business in this difficult economic environment,” Richard said in Wednesday’s news release. “While we now see encouraging revenue and booking trends, we remain cautious in these early stages of an uncertain recovery. My thanks go out to the Delta people who delivered great customer service, ran a solid operation, and moved forward with our merger integration, all against the backdrop of a very challenging economy.” Delta’s operating revenue grew 32% to $7.6 billion in the September quarter compared to the prior year period as a result of the merger. On a combined basis, total operating revenue declined $2 billion, or 21%, and total unit revenue (revenue per available seat mile) declined 17%. “The global recession drove a significant revenue decline for the quarter, but we see improving trends in load factors, yield and business traffic,” Ed said. “We will continue to exercise capacity restraint, coupled with strong cost control to effectively manage this period.” Delta already has achieved $500 million in merger benefits in the first three quarters of the year, reaching its Flight Plan target ahead of plan, Hank Halter, s.v.p. and chief financial officer, told employees in a memo. “We continue to gain momentum with our merger integration and the benefits from our merger have exceeded our original expectations for this year,” Hank said. “We have hit our original 2009 projection of $500 million in benefits ahead of schedule and now expect to achieve $700 million in merger benefits in 2009. This year’s integration activities are the building blocks that will enable us to ramp up to substantial synergy benefits next year.” As of Sept. 30, Delta had $5.8 billion in unrestricted liquidity, including $5.5 billion in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments and $300 million available in an undrawn revolving credit facility. During the September quarter, the airline completed $2.1 billion in new financing transactions, addressing 40% of its 2010 debt maturities and generating $600 million in incremental liquidity. |

I suggest that everyone go to the DALPA website and download the PDF of our new Policy Manual. It is a long read but one that will be good for all of the members. There are some changes in, it and I see them as an improvement.
Either way, stay informed and get this document. It is the second download from the top on the welcome page. |
Just saw on the news that SWA will start STL-MSP next year. AA stopped their STL-MSP, so looks like AA is picking it up.
