Good god, you're funny, T...just pointing out the fact that you have to also consider the money that goes toward ALPA out of your profit sharing and you go Kaplinger on me? Yeah you're right. It just seems that you and index and PD and Carl never miss an opportunity to put in an dALPA dig. I"ve been here long enough to see that the headliners in these kind of "get rid of dALPA" guys and those that support them are all about the dues money. They'll say differently when called on it, but usually the cornerstone of their "get rid of dALPA" campaign is lowering of dues. Mainly I just find it sad that your opinion of the guys that work for you is so low. But you're right, I should let it go.

One of my boys did. Easy. But just like a house or a car or a boat, it's all the accessories and components that jack up the cost. If you are doing it to have an AR built just like you want it go for it. If you think you are saving money, not so much. PM me if you want more info on where and what.

That is good advice, and sometimes I wish I wasn't as close to my family and friends...but my wife and I both grew up outside Chicago and our families both still live here. I'm still close to my friends from high school, likewise for my wife. I've considered moving multiple times and know I'm losing money by not living in base but have offset that loss by starting a business that does pretty well, which allows me more time at home with kids and family, instead of chasing money.
As my parents get up there in age, I will never regret that I didn't spend enough time with them. I see them and my sisters and my in-laws several times a week. I hate commuting, and I wish it was easier, but I will commute for the rest of my life if it means working with all of you here at Delta, AND spending as much time as I do with the people I've known my whole life. That's what's important to me.

Alright fellow APCers, I'm hanging out in Mecca for recurrent. Our DGS instructor (a good guy, BTW) just mentioned his contacts at the FAA are seriously looking at age 67. Yes, it might take a few years, and I'm NOT trying to stir the pot, but was wondering if anyone had heard similar rumors. This might tie in with the 1500 hr rule for airline pilots being revisited as well.

Once you turn 65 you must go back to the right seat and back to the bottom of the list. For everything. That means you don't get to keep your seniority for non revving or anything else. You had your chance, now it's my turn.
