Sure, you win. Now, who made such a claim?

Looked in the contract and I did not see how NQAT (non qualified) days are handled for credit/pay. I have NQAT days at the beginning of the month, training days, and then shadow days. Training's worth 3:45 a day for each day I'm scheduled for actual training, but what's the NQAT pay? From earlier posts I get that the shadow days pay whatever I can get scheduled in them.

Do the shadow days get pushed to the right if your training is eventually scheduled to be a day or two longer than what is showing on your PBS bid calendar, or do they just disappear? (i.e. I think I'll have some off days from training in between classrooms/sims; right now in PBS the training days have the whole training scheduled without an off day in there).

Bump.

I'll whittle the questions down to one: what credit do you get for days that are listed as NQAT on your schedule?

Thanks. As a previous stock broker I am shocked to learn how financially illiterate [most] pilots are. Thank you for allowing me to continue to have at least some control over my own portfolio.

Any quick reading material that would enlighten the other 95% of us? Thanks

+1.....being unblockable was a great deal....a little unnerving seeing a credit of 0 for the month, but its easy to fill up. Put in a blanket white slip and you'll get a call daily for flying.

What do you need in order to be awarded a blank line?

It should show any pre-award credit on your calendar for septber in PBS. Have you checked there? I would guess its a prorated portion of the ALV but that's just a guess.

As for a shadow, it is for bidding purposes only. Again it would show up on the calendar. Once the month starts it doesn't matter anymore. If they delay your training/OE it could end up dropping later trips but that doesn't have anything to do with the shadow.

Also keep in mind that you can't WS/swap/improve your sked through pcs until you complete OE...

Section 23.d.10

You just have to be above the number of projected line holders and not able to build a regular line due to some pre award.

So it seems to me it would have to be extenuating circumstances to get a blank line. I mean unless your one of the guys right at the RSV/REG cutoff and the trips just don't work.

I would bid a blank line in a minute. There is always PLENTY of open time to fill a schedule in my category...If I decide to work that is :D

Looking at a blank line might be bad...I might decide to take the month off!

Also I didn't realize we didn't have the 2 hours to commute anymore as I haven't done RSV this year. So what exactly is the difference in someone taking 2 hours to get ready and drive to the airport or to be on a plane and land before the 2 hours is up?

Is there something that says now we must acknowledge within a certain time limit or call back or something? If not then why can't someone just commute in and acknowledge when they land?

In regards to the 747 replacement aircraft, we all know RA loves used airplanes. There seem to be a lot of carriers looking to part with used 777 aircraft right now to buy newer technology. I'm wondering if we are going to grab some of these because they would be available much sooner than a new aircraft. Just have to see who is taking delivery of new equipment right now and what they are parking.

Or we might be picking up some used 330's from some island in the pacific...well pilots come in that deal I guess so not really a gain.

When we're on short call, we're required to be promptly available for contact and to report for a rotation. IOW, we have to be somewhere that we can take a phone call, or return one pretty quickly.

It's always been that way.
