I thought I hired on at the big D with a bunch of professionals who were above that childish behavior. I guess when we can act like professionals we just might get paid like them again. Instead we fight amongst ourselves.

Dear Dalpa,

Please just says this. "The pilots at Delta have waited long enough. It's time to restore what was taken from us in bankruptcy. Delta is enormously profitable, in part due to the sacrifices we made. It's beyond time that we get a return on that investment. Our pledge to you, the Delta pilot, is to obtain a contract that returns our compensation, plus inflation, to its rightful place. A cadillac every month."

Ps. It's called a moose knuckle and that was from one big moose!!
I'm already planning on using the loudest voice I know...my NO vote on whatever the NC sends our way. We should start a St Louis style protest outside DALPA HQ.

So other than this, lets list the cases and include what exactly he won.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that a certification drive and vote by pilots does not appear on a court docket anywhere. That was not a court case in which there was a lawsuit filed by Seham against ALPA in which he won. You haven't answered the question.

I also do not know the answer. Get back to us when you aren't restricted by your iPhone and have the chance to provide more details.

That makes sense. How about we wait and see what they come up with before we vote?

It should come from you and your DPA buds who are squandering money that should be being used to protect and further our careers.

Who's squandered more money? The DPA campaign or DALPA accepting bankruptcy as a reset on our behalf? I'll bet the average Delta pilot has had around $100K/year "squandered" for the past 10 years. That's a total squander in the neighborhood of $1 million each. If there are 9000 of us who've been here during that whole time period, that's a grand total squander of $9 billion. I'm thinking the DPA campaign has not been anywhere near that expensive.

I think he was teasing.

There is no way he does that without also getting everyone around him to vote no to whatever the NC sends our way.

Any opinions on which to do, tips, recommendations, personnal experiences? I don't think we have time to adequately do both in the same trip (@9 days).

We would have two younger kids in tow.

Never having been to any of them we are not sure which direction to go. Yosemite is another consideration.

Thanks
I wouldn't consider Yosemite right now. There's a fire burning in Madera that has the valley partially obscured, plus it has been an incredibly dry 3 years. It's best done when the valley is smoke free and the waterfalls are running heavily.

Yellowstone in August is pretty awesome for kids because of the amount of wildlife viewing available. Hayden Valley will still have lots of bison and elk that are easy to see. Up in the northeast corner of the park the grizzlies are moving pretty well. If they like this kind of stuff you can join horse tours near Roosevelt lodge, and there are plenty of waterfalls still moving adequately for a show. They'll get a kick out of the geysers (and their smell) as well.

If you have military affiliation make sure you bring ID. Most cards get you in for free. Also, if you're driving at dusk or just after dark, be careful. The deer play a game of "try to wreck the tourist cars" on the 2 lane park roads with limited sight distances. Might want to consider "walk away" protection for your rental car.

That's some creative accounting. Look around the industry. I was here for all of that. My thought is DPA is a couple people with a personal agenda against ALPA/DALPA that tried to take advantage of the dissatisfaction with the state of the industry at the time. What legacy has done better since 2004? A buddy in the same seat at United had to get a 45 percent raise to make it to our rates. I want a whole lot in the next contract and I'll put my money with the guys who navigated the decade better than any comparable group. Openers are approaching and DPA to me is a stupid wasteful distraction at this point.
