It wasn't enough to basically shutdown the DALPA Forum...Now the same group of DALPA sympathizers is gunning to shut down this thread or at least get rid of any dissention through bans....

You know with contract negotiations just around the corner.

I rarely post but the extremes the ALPA insiders will go to protect their sweetheart deals truly sickens me.

I'm pretty far from a DALPA symp, but I think you are making a leap here.

Speaking of which, new hires, get your 717a bids in, the AE closes in 17 minutes.

Man, that NYC 717a is gonna go junior.

Unfortunately it may be too much to be opinionated AND be a moderator.

This post is an attempt to steer this conversation into a more productive future.
Taking your point and adding to it; some add no new information, do no research and do not respond to objective facts objectively. When a person, or a group, bands together adding nothing but divisiveness and bigotry then they should be banned. If people come on here and constantly lie (and I do not mean error with a posted retraction) they are not good members of this community.

I applaud Johnson's action and would hope that effective moderation has the potential to restore this web site to the higher standard that it was once famous for.

I've seen no indication that any of the moderators exhibits any prejudice. Keeping the peace and being rational should be a common sense ethic.

Couple of points ... I've been pretty hard on ALPA, particularly in the area of scope. Have I been banned or threatened? Nope. Posted testimony from the bankruptcy hearings, testimony from ALPA's own Counsel to refute what that Counsel later advised our MEC and really made some of our Admin furious. Banned, nope.

There is a difference between posting facts with quoted sources which make people angry ... and name calling. A author who does his, or her, homework is pretty safe citing 3rd party sources to make a point (and it also proves confidentiality was not breached).

The ALPA board got shut down because the same low brow false allegations, name calling and threats, exposed ALPA to legal responsibility for hosting the site. ALPA was having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to moderate the thing ... and those causing the harm would have been pleased to cause even more harm had they realized their great effect.

This is why we can't have nice things ....

We have this board, we have Ben's Chit Chat forum which has nearly no moderation and a majority of posters that support DPA. Enjoy those resources which do not directly expose our association to our shenanigans and lawsuits.

Wow…you have GRASS?? We live in the valley as well, and we have pure unadulterated desert for a yard (NOT gravel!). Saves on the mowing and fertilizer. A bit dusty, though…..

Ive got to jump in here. I will not say one direction or another on johnso in public.

This is not a DL moderated forum- it is mostly other airline and non airline people. johnso and I are the only DL guys that are moderators. Making statements like you just did are ignorant and conspiratorial at best.

I agree it will go junior but I looked last night and there were 20 or so with a bid in that were senior to me and I'm an Oct 2000 hire. I doubt it gets down to 2007 hires on this bid. Probably Jul 2001 hires
