Not if you haven't been taking Malarone for 4 days prior they can't.
I had a discussion with the ATL Int. Chief Pilot about this very topic a few years ago. He asked me if I had my Malarone prescription.
I said, "Nope, I'm never going there, so I don't need it."
He said, "Well, what if they cancel your Dubai trip and assign you a Lagos trip for recovery?"
I said, "That's what sick leave is for, I'll just sick out of it BEFORE I go and get Malaria, so I'll save Delta a bundle in both Malarone prescriptions and malaria treatment costs."
No argument from him. BTW, he'd never been there either and had no desire to go, and this was BEFORE the Ebola thing!

You can refuse to do anything you want. You're not going to have any contractual protection. It's recommended to start Malerone 2 days prior however the CDC states that if you start it 8 hours before entering a malaria zone you should have full coverage.

The abortion email was not enough?
I agree. I filled out a card, but since this hacking deal I think these guys are a bunch of quacks. Won't be filling out the renewal and will probably get off the email list because I'm sick of hearing about the "hacking" scandal.
Yep. The fall of the DPA movement is all on his hands.
Didn't know they were going after individuals and didn't know who TC was until tonight. Glad I never filled out a card or signed up for the emails. Time to unite under one flag and move forward...but just say no to CDO's!

Agreed. I said the same in my survey. I've done the good and bad ones in the past. Even the good ones aren't worth letting the camel's nose in, IMO.

Did you guys see this, posted in Hanger Talk, from the article about Middle East carriers and open skies:
"It is not immediately clear why the meeting was put off, but sources tell Flightglobal that the airlines' decision was linked to ongoing US-led airstrikes against extremist group Islamic State (ISIS). The USA is being aided in its military operations by several Middle Eastern nations, including the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which own the fast-growing Gulf carriers that the three US airlines have voiced concerns about.
Delta, American and United all decline to comment on the meeting when contacted by Flightglobal. A DOT spokesperson refers follow-up questions to Delta, identifying the Atlanta-based carrier as the airline which set up the meeting."
The Gulf carriers - specifically Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad - have drawn the increased ire of the US and European airline industry in recent years, as they have rapidly expanded their networks and ordered hundreds of new widebody aircraft. Delta's chief executive Richard Anderson, in particular, has been especially vocal.
"A number of those [Middle Eastern] carriers are not airlines, they're governments," he said at the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) convention in Los Angeles in July, adding that the Middle Eastern carriers have "huge subsidies and huge structural advantages".
Sounds to me that in addition to the Im-Ex Bank/Boeing thing, we aren't going to go after them now, due to their 'support' of eliminating ISIS?

No. 6 hours behind the door? No. I can't imagine guys who liked that. It's a safety thing. Are they gonna build in van time, eating, ironing, falling asleep?
Again, I ask. How does this square with the FAA's reg for 8 hours of sleep? I'm assuming because it fits into the definition of a duty day. I, for one, am much more fatigued after a "sit" then I am flying multiple legs with minimum turn. It's a switch on, switch off for me. YMMV.

And for the FAA, you got rest BEFORE the trip. You're on one continuous duty period. Knowing you have one of those trips, you plan ahead for it.
Just because you dont like then doesn't mean everyone doesn't like them.
That's not what the NC brought back on the 117 LOA, and why it was taken out. The company wants it as a way to mitigate widespread 30hr layovers. Me thinks if it was limited to < 1hr flights it wouldn't be a big deal, but that's not what the company wants.
