No matter how well intentioned, procedures and callouts need to be streamlined to make compliance achievable. If they are so numerous that even pilots who want to comply can't get it all correct, it can lead to people throwing up their hands in frustration and stop even trying to comply.

If the average line pilot can't get the procedures and callouts correct on a line check, it's probably not the fault of the line pilot.

Good points Carl, it's almost like all the "dings" we're getting from the ACARS and the FMS. From the 7 minute point to receiving the WDR, I've counted 11 dings in that period, many occurring back to back to back, and often just for hitting the print icon!!! It really is hard to keep up with the changes in callouts and procedures and the freaking manuals keep growing in size. Just did CQ and I forgot how big (and different) Vol 1 FOM and the FCTM have become. All you guys complaining about our manuals and the "big bubble" cockpit seem to have "won the argument" Uggh

Thanks.
2. Not ready yet

Just airline apps for me. Over the summer I was in requal and stopped in to give a couple buddies a good word and was booted by the gate keeper. Stated that "we no longer do that". It's a different world out there!

Some things yes, but I think we've crossed the line into numerous extraneous exchanges.
I agree wholeheartedly. We're doing more talking than we are aviating. Perhaps it's the mass influx of new hires. There's a synergy that's being deconstructed.

If it weren't for Fixed News there wouldn't be much factual content in the media. I don't agree, or watch, a lot of what they air....but they're spot on with many reports that the alphabet networks have no inclination to pursue. The Obamacare guy is a condescending elitist. Are you "stupid?" I don't think I am.

The Navy SEAL that killed Bin Laden documentary last night was effing riveting.

When MSNBC gets rid of Sharpton. Give me a call.

I don't know if it will dip that low. I really hope it does though; what a great buying opportunity!

We're so wired to read things back too. Cross five miles in front of us 20,000 feet lower than we are now and slow 100 knots and follow all traffic to the airport? No problem!

Wait...

Cough cough.

We've gone from being told that the US was being eradicated by a deadly virus to not hearing a peep about it, within 2-3 weeks.

After this ebola crap, I think it should be clear to everyone by now that ALL of our news sources in the US are absolute crap. Fox included.

Each and every one of them should issue apologies for their irresponsible reporting (and being the cause of our Delta stock --if you still have it-- taking a $10 hit within a week.)

None of them deserve anyone's defense, because they all suck.

That's right. I said it.
