Not 100% sure but my bet is that it is based on an economist named Teresa Ghilarducci who said this in her congressional testimony back in 2008:

That upset some people. To my knowledge there is no effort or any effort any longer in Congress to do such a thing and I'm not sure if it can be done via executive order but if it was I guess delta would put out a statement approving of it. I'm teasing.

Now ending the tax breaks on 401ks is definitely something some folks in Congress really want to do because that, cough cough, costs the government a lot of money.

The resultant economic crash as a result of such action by Congress would cost the government a heck of a lot more money.

Yep.

Holiday loads however were the worst I've seen in years and my sister and her family decided not to fly over Christmas. RT tickets are $1,200 each even a month out for the flights they need. Loads on the flights they were looking at are less than 40% right now.

If oil prices drop down we may see price wars begin because not many people will pay $1,200 RT for tickets in the U.S.

The airlines can always run a last minute "Sale" on airfares if the loads are light over Christmas and New Years a week out. It's too early to tell what the loads were like this Thanksgiving, being that one of the busiest travel days of the year is this coming Sunday.

I think the weather in the north east on Weds. along with free changes to bookings, make it look light, but we'll have to wait a week or so to see how this year compared to last year.

Absolutely.

People with this viewpoint will always look at it as you were getting tax subsidies to begin with and especially so on 401ks. And it's time to end tax subsidies on the rich. They'll always be nipping at it but thankfully congress folks want to keep getting elected.

Hey quick question, my buddy lost his passport. Going to Mexico on a trip. What does the company do in that situation?

Reserve Spill in question

I am on reserve this month and a line holder next month. They have me on a trip that spills two days into next month. Does our contract allow this? The spill in days are obviously on my days off.

RES question. Coming off a mando 30 hr rest, am I required to check my schedule/answer phone during that 30 hrs. Also, can skeds place something on my schedule after that 30hrs without notifying me? (Rest ends at a 0030, can something be placed on schedule at 0030 or 1030 without a phone notification?)
I am SC full for the month.

Is he still stateside? If so, they'll pull him off without pay. I forgot mine one time and was able to swap with another dude for a domestic trip. Just happened to be in Atlanta though. Scheduling made it happen at the last minute.

Fellow newbie here. I had the same question: asked and answered on page 16,792 (C'mon, you haven't read and memorized this entire thread?).

Though that answer was disputed the next page...
