Yes, they are done (except for an occasional one-off event) and DAL has full use of both sims in ATL now. The "extra" sim availability was cooked into the planning long ago.

I think his point is that we can now take airplanes at a faster rate than the last year, because we have both the sims to use.

Yep. ALPA sets goals collectively with the company. Case in point:

I think the MEC wants C2015 to be successfully ratified. To do that, they have to deliver a deal that meets most of the objectives of most of us.
So RA and ALPA have the same collective goal. To produce a TA that 50% +1 of the pilots will vote "yes" on.

I'd expect that to be RA's goal. I'm astounded that you'd admit that it's also ALPA's goal.

Shouldn't ALPA's goal be to produce a TA that 100% of the pilots want??

So much for an "historic" contract.

Additional 717 sim time is available for New Hire F/O's in the form of 'E' period training. It's ugly, but we've done it before.

The last I was told they were content with the size of ATL717B and if anything they would not replace those who bid off at the end of the initial freeze unless it got below the A side..

If there was a plane that could use some more Bs then I would think ATL73NB would be it. Are they hiring into that?

I think ALPA's goal is to produce a contract that most pilots find acceptable. The percentage of approval is important, but since we haven't experienced a deal that was ratified by only a narrow margin, I'll leave it to you to do the fear mongering of such a thing.

Your astonishment at a "fact" you invented is duly noted.

Yes. A worthy goal. But we both know that such a document could be transported to the roadshows by unicorn.

I suppose if I were you, and found myself constantly in the clear minority of ratification votes, I'd seek a villain to blame. It must be ALPA's fault, because there's no way your opinions could EVER be anything other than logical and universally embraced by all pilots.

I look forward to you telling us the 100%-approved pilot group opinion on uniforms, hats, 5-day trips, military vs civilian, the role of seniority on Reserve, and the fairest method for Green Slip assignments.

That is why they front loaded the training so much on the 717. They had a lot of crews pre trained before the first aircraft entered service. That mitigated sharing the sims with AirTran.

The 5th is not certified.

Default 767-400 QOL in ATL

In regards to the latest AE, I'm thinking about bidding the 767-4 in ATL. Wondering if anyone can shed some light on QOL for someone living in ATL who would more than likely be on RES.

Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression they were putting new hires into every narrow body, and some into the 767/757 as well? Is that not the case?
