Dear colleagues,

I am asking your attention for the following.
I am currently writing a thesis for an MSc in Air Transport Management at the City University in London.

The target group of this survey is: professional pilots.
This survey supports an MSc study into promotions of First Officers to Captains in the aviation industry. The study contains a research into alternative promotion methods for seniority (only) based promotion systems.

Lots of 7er. All other narrow bodies will also have slots but the 7er should be half of them. This will continue into APR after which you will see a shift back to the smaller stuff.

These kinds of rumors about firings spread like wild fire and always turn out to be either a event that never happened or the rest of the story was never told. Usually the rest of the story involves a thick file and personal issues the employee involved has never mentioned to anyone.
The legal standard to fire someone is the same union or non Union. With a union they pay to represent you. Non union you have to hire a attorney. Over the years I have sadly been involved in issues that I thought for sure would mean immediate termination. Everyone got their job back. Delta has a very extensive set of rules for terminating a employee who is non union including a peer review. There are multiple cross checks.
