Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Thanks for putting this out Alan. This is extremely hypocritical as they claim the required ASR/ASAP is for fact finding as to why a FDP extension was required yet they ONLY WANT THIS DATA IF YOU REFUSE THE EXTENSION. Why wouldn't this data also be required if you accepted the extension? It does sound like pilot pushing to me.
(Question not aimed at you Alan)
From the document:
How come I have to explain why I didn’t extend my FDP?
Per FAR 117, FDP extensions should be the exception, not the norm. When an FDP is extended 31 minutes or more, the extension must be reported to the FAA. So when an FDP needs to be extended, something in the system did not work as planned and the report must include the reason and potentially any corrective action. When you are unable to accept an FDP extension that information needs to be collected to determine what happened during your duty period. Under our current procedure the duty pilot asks a set of questions to gather his data, and each pilot submits an ASR (and an ASAP is also recommended). Since we are making a typical operational decision to not accept an FDP extension, flight operations management may ask about the factors surrounding our decision, just as they do with any other factor affecting an operational decision. In the case of an FDP extension issue, there is an underlying need to find out what caused the requirement for an FDP extension and what, needs to be corrected from an operational standpoint.

Talked to a fella in the ATL who is in the 320 program that will be one of the initial DAL guys to get qualified on the 350. I guess they are starting up work on the manuals any day now. Said it will be an 8 day course going from the 330 to 350 with no sims. As of last week those guys didn't know about the common category, but said it would probably be separate.
Good for us if it is separate.

You can fly it in the same category however the FAA requires you maintain currency in both types. This would be a major headache. They also require two additional sims for recurrent. You have to do the training in both sims. The 757/767 is grandfathered under different rules.
Hey guys, I'm going to my son's preschool class on Friday to talk to them about flying. My wife, while non-revving last month through ATL found these Delta coloring books for kids. She is asking me to try to find some to take to the class. She has two so I would need 10 more. I live outside Chicago...about 50 minutes from ORD so it's kind of a long drive to see if they have them there.
Any idea who I could call to see if I could get them co-mailed to me? Thanks.

Call 800-USA-ALPA.
RA provides free coloring books to DALPA. All they can use. I'm sure they can spare a couple.
