Speaking of transcons, if I remember correctly about a year and a half ago we were talking up the JFK/SEA roue. It was supposed to be lie-flat 7ER/75E Business Elite just like SFO and LAX. Then that quietly went away and we're back to a mix of 737's and 757's with standard domestic First Class service. Anyone know what happened there?

Word of the day, densification.

They are looking forward to the end of the LGA 1500 mile radius. The trans cons will start popping up from LGA as soon as that goes away. The lay flat 757 will be the metal to do that.
I just flew a 753 the other day with new seats. 234 of them.

Don't know, but the last 757s built went to Shanghai Airlines. They have 8 757-200s, and are in the process of merging with China Eastern, which is an all Airbus outfit. All according to wiki, so buyer beware.

Bidding question: Does PBS put a higher priority on bidding specific pairing #s with the layover in city XYZ verses just bidding layovers in XYZ?

No, however if some of the trips are better then others bidding the pairings will award them in the order you want.

It sounds crazy, but LGa-lax is precisely what the 767-400 was designed to do.

Food for thought.

I flew it when it was domestic 00-01 timeframe. All we did was transcons. It never had a drop of fuel in the center tank the whole time I was on it. So, I gotta slightly disagree with you. However, what exactly it was designed for remains a mystery to me.
