Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Does the icrew swap board allow you to get a trip with less than 12 hours between rotations? Trying to pick up a 1 day with 10:30 between block out and next rotation block in... won't let me do it, though it would be a good legal layover.
I have to commute up early anyways, and someone's trying to get rid of that trip and can't (Q). I can see that waiving the 12 hours between trips would be useful. (if it ends up resulting in more productivity and less pilots required though, then I'm against it).

Jocularity Judges.
I'll tell you what's funny and when!
I know because I always tell my copilots humorous anecdotes.
Fantastic.

We were one short and curly hair width away from not getting the second jumpseat on the 321s due to the cost. Thankfully, the company is forking out the cash for that one (and also thankful for the roominess of fifi).

Jumpseat weight (500ish pounds for seat, rider and bags) probably also plays a role. The company has spent a lot of effort and expense on items that save far less weight.

I remember looking at the pilot bulletin board in DFW back in the early 90's during Mo-Ron's leadership 7.5 campaign. Someone had put up a bulletin meant for the FA's to not carry that extra can of soda, as one can X so many flights per day X so many days of the year meant xxx extra weight and the increase in fuel burn. Some joker with a great sense of humor posted 14,000 FA's X 50 pounds overweight X so many flights per day X 365.

After missing out on a convenient trip once, I asked the scheduler what the buffer specifically was and they couldn't state, but just that the only time they can go down to the 10:30 limit is when they are assigning GS's.
I'd rather see an intercom in the 737 that doesn't require rubber bands. I had heard they were working on a mod for it but have yet to see anything. It's ridiculous to try to communicate in that environment and pretty soon this will be our largest fleet. I wrote one of our negotiators and a fleet manager about it but it fell on deaf ears. Catch that bit of sarcasm there at the end?

I'd love a whole bunch of jumpseats....
But I don't think it's worth wasting negotiating power on.

Having jumpseated on both the 737 and A320 and flown neither, which one is a better QOL airplane, pay notwithstanding? Has anyone flown both and care to compare/contrast? it seems like I hear a lot of complaints about the noise and space on the 737 and about the trip quality on the 320... I think a lot of people are weighing the same options right now in both seats.
