I totally disagree. I make it clear to the agent that I'll only give it up for a Nonrev and only if there are no jumpseaters. I don't give my seat up until just prior to door closing. I'm firm with them while trying to help a fellow employee. If the agent doesn't want to play by my rules I take my seat. This isn't that complicated, we have the backing of the contract to say no and hopefully the good judgement and common sense when to say yes. You seem to want to take the most obstinate stance at all times.

It never happens like that. The walk-up jumpseater gets left behind every time. This needs to be black and white. When deadheading, the jumpseat is not an option.

Thanks Scoop |

Stay downtown, go to a Twins game, eat well. IMO the Crowne MOA is a horrible location.
That's all I know about msp.:D |

I can tell you the food at our downtown layover hotel is beyond excellent...a gourmet restaurant in a hotel. Not overpriced for what it is either...also Guinness on tap.

Thanks Scoop You know the Rad Blu is a good setup! You and I had good beers here a few weeks back plus its close to all the good eats, etc. I am writing from here as we speak and have another night here tomorrow. You can take the trolley to the Mall from downtown, I think its fairly cheap transit. |
Break Break....
Anyone know if CASS/Jumpseat privileges will last if I am on mil orders greater than 30 days and put on MIL-NBC status? I have some training coming up and would like to jumpseat home once in a while if the opportunity presents itself. I cant find any good source data in the FOM or the PWA wrt to whether or not I will have JS privileges. Thanks.... |

I was told as a new hire that it is a willful disregard of the contract to give up a DH seat. We negotiated the seat, the company expects us to sit in the seat, and don't go around violating the contract just to help out the company.
Now, how we apply the contract seems to be an individual thing. Some take a more literal stance than others. You want to give up or concede some part of it, fine. But then, do you really have any ground to complain when another individual decides to do the same, but with another area? Besides, you may be wanting to help out fellow employees, but you are throwing under the bus all the other pilots who refuse to participate in a contract violation. |
