No, but on the Chit Chat board, there's a whole thread about what was 'Leaked' from yesterday's Special MEC Meeting.

Capping the profit sharing was one of the many items Richard wants.

I wasn't in the room, so I cannot vouch for the validity of the leak, but the usual suspects went nuts and said who ever leaked it should be thrown off the MEC. That alone tells me it's probably true.

I feel just the opposite. The Membership NEEDS to hear this stuff, ASAP! It's about time the membership was kept informed about the crap that is about to go down, BEFORE we have a T/A, like CDO's.

Once there is a TA, it's too late to stop it.

Can you PROVE Richard doesn't want to cap our PS?

By that standard, you've done more to help the profession than the Wright brothers, Dave Behnke, and Roscoe Mcmillan all put together.

(P.S., for those new hires on here....especially the ones flying Widebodies, Google Roscoe Mcmillan + Delta)
I believe Carl did go on strike, what have YOU done to move the profession forward? Vote Yes a lot?

cant prove a negative so your premise is invalid

i dont want to cap it on the top, i definitely want a lot of the lower part moved into payrates after and only after our new contract raises are calculated. they better not try and use any profit sharing as a raise, im slightly afraid that alpo will try to shove that down our throat, but that is yet to be seen

Nope. I can only infer from what the man has been saying for the last 2 years that he is not interested in that. Times do change however. I have about as much faith in the accuracy of the chit chat boar as I do Wikipedia however. YMMV

He does far more than post here. I'll leave it at that.

I cant seem to find it on the chit-chat. Its like looking for a needle in a hay stack with a bunch of the same BS rhetoric

What can I say, whenever DALPA has called for some type of picketing, I've been there marching with a sign in both New York and Boston. Other than that, I don't recall Delta ever going out on strike.

As for voting, I've voted Yes sometimes and I've voted No sometimes. About 50-50 in my career (includng voting NO on C2K, the supposed gold standard of contracts because I felt the scope giveaways were too great). Strangely, I'm not hair triggered to vote a certain way 100% of the time. Mostly, I'm just a line pilot who tries to stay informed, votes on all elections and TAs, and freely admits that I'm not willing to sacrifice my time-off to do the kind of work that the ALPA guys have to do.

If you told me that Carl has done all sorts of elected and/or volunteer work for ALPA or that he regularly shows up to meetings with Resolutions in hand that he's come up with to help his fellow pilots, I'd be far more impressed than if you told me he went out on Strike with the rest of his pilot group. Who knows....maybe he has done all those things and more, but barring that knowledge, he's simply another keyboard warrior with an opinion like the rest of us, not some kind of hero.

Fwiw. Had a management pilot on the JS last week who insinuated("double top secret, can't tell details from recent pilot management meeting") that sick leave has to be dealt with(we use more than peers and is unsustainable), profit sharing is too much(for wall street) and should be monetized now(of course at a value management deems fair), etc. I get the vibe that there are some that have not only bought into ch11 was a permanent reset, but we are almost there again.

They actually were extended.
Keep in mind the JV partners are also accelerating parking their 747's.
Sailin, I can care less if they park all 747's yesterday. What I do have major issue with (and apparently you don't) is the fact that NONE of our highest paid positions are getting replaced by new ones. Pretty soon we'll be down to 18 777's and that's it. Since the merger our widebody flying has shrunk and in 2018 at the earliest will we have the same amount of wide body equipment (at 350/330 pay)!!! We all know that before 2018 a lot can happen and I predict more widebodies (767's) heading for the parking lot in Arizona.

If I'm sick, I'm not flying. What change would they make?
Because a bank system of sick leave(if we go this route) takes money out of your bank account to pay for any sick calls you make. That means money in your bank comes out to pay for your sick usage which is a huge concession to what we have now. It will also encourage more guys to fly sick. You know the ones who say "I'm not sick, it is allergies."
