Is there a way to find out what a buddy pass would cost, without authorizing the "buddy" thanks

Yes. My wife does it for a friend all the time.
Travelnet>tools>Calculate Yield/Buddy pass fare>Select a flight> calculate Yield fare.

Which is just wrong on so many levels! Think about WHO was actually damaged by Delta NOT flying the required amount of wide bodies across the ocean. It's NOT the guys who did fly our wide bodies across the ocean for the past 4 years, it's all the guys who were stuck on narrow bodies NOT upgrading to international wide bodies to do that flying.

You can keep mine cut and give it to an MD88 F/O who has been stuck on that thing for the past 4 years, Lord knows he's earned it!

This is how it was explained at the roadshow: The 5.74% calculation is essentially what we would receive if the company made 6b today. We lose the 20% above 2.5b (will now be 10% PS up to 6b), but receive the 6% raise on JAN1, 2016. That is our monetized 20% portion of PS, paid on day 1 as part of our normal pay. If the company makes less than 6b, we actually come out ahead because of the 6% raise. If the company makes more than 6b, that portion above 6b will pay out at 20% PS. That's why the chart only goes to 6b.

THIS IS MY UNDERSTANDING of how it was explained. I HAVE NOT personally worked the math myself. :D

My rep told me the same thing.Who ever was on property between certain dates and it will go by earnings in that period.

It's insane that United has basically pulled out of NYC, all that's left are a few flights from lga. Is united in really such bad shape?

They are huge in Newark (CAL's big hub), why spread your self thin between there and JFK? Newark is nearly as close to downtown NYC as JFK is, and if they want to feed their international hub in EWR, why serve JFK?

They also have a huge operation at Dulles, I don't think they need JFK.

Agreed. This makes sense for UAL. They were struggling with an orphaned JFK transcon operation with no connectivity anywhere. This allows them and DL to better focus on their strengths, particulaarly in the premium transcon markets and should help both defend the yield trashing wars of attrition in those markets from JB and VX.
