Thankyou Sir! Maybe I'll hang out in ops for those 6 hours and pass out con papers.

You may preference replacement flying in the computer. Preference something that is commutable and if assigned even on Day 2 or 3 of the trip the 6 hour obligation goes away.

I'm a Netjets guy who in solidarity applauds your efforts to get a fair ,equitable, and industry leading CBA,nobody has ever said this process is painless, but putting their( management ) feet to the fire is the only way to get results. The pilots have the power. Cheers out.

Ok thanks! But if I understand it correctly after the first 6 hours & no assignments then I'm done?

You never know what crew sleds will do. A few years ago, a bunch of DTW-AMS flights cnx due to ATC problems in Europe. About 1 hr. later a buddy of mine and I (both A330 CA on 6 day trips ) were awarded a new trip starting with a DH. He got my trip, I got his. Go figure.

Neither of you put a preference in the computer. Always put in for what you might want to fly.

That's true. This was shortly after the merger. We had no clue what to do. Lesson learned. We just thought skeds would use common sense. Should have known better

Can anyone shed light on payback day usage?

I have 2 payback days coming and I want to use them for a 4 day trip that starts Jul 30th. The way I read it, it'll pay me for the first two days of the trip, which is what I want since they're worth 14 or so hours.

Questions: 1 - Does there have to be positive staffing to use PB days? 2 - Are they processed on the 20th like the rest of July PCS or will they go as soon as I put them in? I don't see payback days on the list of PCS steps.

Thanks!

1. Not sure about the positive staffing, but it has to be approved by crew scheds via the PCS system.
2. Go to PCS-Leave Requests-Payback Days and select the bid period at the top of the screen. July usage won't be available until the schedule is released to DBSM. Enter it as a request and it will be processed.

PB days are dropped via I-crew. They are in PCS:

Schedules>PCS>Leave Request>Payback Days

Automated process. Yes you need positive coverage for all days of any trip you are attempting to drop.

I don't think you can drop any July trips until the PCS runs for July start on the 20th.
