The other thing about that video, and it matters not what school, but just as orthopedic surgeons may be rubbing their hands together in glee watching all the skateboard tricksters on youtube; there is probably a divorce lawyer in Hoover rubbing his hands together in glee of all his future high maintenance clients. :D

Hands. Yes, they're rubbing their hands.

Little later check sched and I'm on a trip that gets in around 1900. Sched calls (side note, now know why all pilots hate scheds) and is somewhat shocked when I ask how it's legal to run me 3 hours past my sc window. Huffily offers to look it up. Does so and reads a bunch of numbers at me that sum up to me being legal (can fly) till 2000.

Is that true?

(I will read the PWA, but I find it a legal substitute for ambien)

FDP limit for a short call assignment:
• Scheduled FDP must end no later than the earlier of:
1. FDP report time plus FDP limit from FAR Part 117 table B or C.
2. RAP start time plus: FAR part 117 table C value (augmented crew) plus 4 hours, including FDP extensions.
3. RAP start time plus: FAR part 117 table B value (unaugmented crew) plus 4 hours, not to exceed 16 hours prior to any extension.

I got that from the scheduling reference handbook, don't ask me to translate.

Mike,

How close are you to system plug captain?

Ghillis,

Same question.

Wow, ATL 320 went very senior.

Yeah, what gives? Bunch of Retards-Retards -- don't people realize it's French!?! And the radar sucks. And the stupid "from" box is silly. And the trip mix is like an 88. And it doesn't descend at top of descent. The plane is a mess. For future AEs, 73NFO is looking really good...

I have sinned. Badly. And by the grace of God was forgiven.

I'm sure you guys saw the news on the internet. I no longer have to hide.

Don't judge me. You probably didn't do any better in your own little way. And I can assure you I will never do it again. EVER.

And what I mean is, the shape my Mcrib was in was awful. The way i treated that thing was a sin and there was a lot of sinning. But IT GONE now!

What did you think I was talking about? :D

Never have understood the entitlement mentality concerning those complaining about how others fly the contract...

Kudos to those who really learn their contract and fly it to maximum effect...

Due to my stagnant seniority, I've been dropping my entire schedule for over ten years and have been able to greatly improve my time off and pay... it sure has beaten ten years of flying all weekends, holidays and redeyes, that my seniority would have afforded me!

Advice for all newbies:

Learn section 23 backwards and forwards... this is the bread and butter of your every day working life. It really isn't difficult... just take it one sentence at a time.

Also, whenever you are getting ready to do something you haven't done for awhile, read and fully understand that section. I.e., bidding vacation, bidding an AE, etc... I flew with two FOs last year that missed their coast to coast paid moves because they didn't know a VD entitled them to said move... that cost them thousands of dollars!

Bottom line... fly your negotiated contract to maximum personal effect!

Bon Chance!

P.s., Removed quote because this really applied to several posters.

Yeah, when it comes to the PWA scenarios like this aren't the easiest thing to confirm whether or not all is legit. But from the sound of it what happened to you seems completely legal: You can be used for a 15 hour day. Curious if you discovered anything in your research that would disagree with what the scheduler said.

So I have another question for you all. I was able to drop a 4 day trip and now there is a trip with a "q" next to it with another FO on it that I would like to pick up. However when I go to the Icrew swap board it does not show. How do I go about picking up this trip? Do I put in a white slip?

Good luck getting back on the sub diet. Louis CK does a pretty good job starting a 5:30 of explaining what you're dealing with.
