You must be near death then.😀 2014 hires are within 300 numbers of Capt in NY. You'd probably see 717 and Maddog Capt before a primo wide body FO position.
If another base does not have the reserves to cover it the trip may go to another base's reserves. They put that in there so it doesn't go through the whole trip coverage process in the new base. I've gotten a few of these assigned to me on reserve so I started looking at the reserve availability list from that base. They had more than enough coverage so I took screen shots and sent them to DALPA scheduling. They felt the company violated the PWA by working around the trip coverage sequence and filed a grievance. It's good to break out the PWA once in a while.
You sound pretty self entitled for a new guy. Most of the senior "deadwood" FO's "camping out" as you put it, have paid some pretty serious dues.
Haven't been on reserve in a couple years. Anyone know what time the earliest report can be on first day on call? Is shortcall 10am? What is earliest for long call?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Long call starts at Midnight on your first on call day, they have to give you 10 hours notice for a short call, and two hours (approx) from there to report so the earliest you can be assigned a sign in for a trip is 12 noon on day one.
I seem to remember something about that changing but can't remember if it was in NA15 or if it did in fact change.
As you can tell, I haven't sat reserve in a while.

Yep, still true. Unless you YS for an earlier time.

No, stay on the NB fleets. Every time I fly to BRU, MUC, FRA, NRT, etc., I drink a toast to the FOs senior to me on the MD. Senior NB FOs please stay right where you are on the top of your airplane. It gives us junior guys a shot at the 7ER, 330 and 765.
Relax slick, I'm just happy to be here. But I have paid some "serious" dues as well, maybe not here, but paid nonetheless.

My understanding is that if it is your first day of reserve they can give you short call starting at 10:00 am at any time. You then can call them and tell them you will be uncontactable for the first 2 hours of short call making 12:00 the earliest you will have something given to you. They have given me short call every first reserve day back at 10:00. I just call them and say I am commuting in and they give me the 2 hour uncontactable and make a note on my schedule. This only works on day one of reserve.
