Random, off topic question of the day.....

Anyone recently, or ever, do the whole Disney World family vacation thing with young one and have any recommendations on where to stay (on or off property) or which passes/parks to get?

Bank hours?

If I'm on NBCMIL for long term orders, can I still payout my banked hours? If so, is it based on my previous AC and position flown? Thanks,
Squirt

We've stayed at several of the Disney resorts. Polynesian, All-Star Sports Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Beach Club Resort. Our favorites were the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Beach Club Resort. The Sports Resort was okay but plain. Same for Polynesian.

You can get all-inclusive with meal plans. Meal plans can be a little confusing. Let's say you go into a restaurant and you think, heck we can use one meal ticket to get a large pizza and share it. Nope. Each person must use a meal ticket. The breakfasts were all great at all the resorts. (Included in meal plan) All resorts have scheduled bus runs to/from.

You may be able to get a better deal than what's offered thru company but takes a little research. You can save money if you stay off-site and eat meals outside of park. Convenience vs. $$

My guess is you are looking at your 2014 W2. Unless things have changed you don't have to pay for your 2015 (yet)

Dudes,
Noob question. When you are on reserve and have vacation coming up. Do you bid all your on call days during vacation in order to maximize your time off for the month? Does this change your paycheck? Basically how is one suppose to bid reserve with a vacation or (training for that matter)

PBS wont let you bid for reserve days on vacation days, but your reserve requirement is pro-rated for the month. If you have one week of vacation, you are only on the hook for 13 reserve days. your "x" days are also pro-rated.

Thanks! Is that the same for training?

Don't hold me to someof this, and I am sure someone will correct me soon.

Yes, for the month of training, the rest of your reserve obligation will be prorated. If you have CQ, I think it knocks off one day. IQ, your OE will count towards your reserve obligation. (that's the part I am not sure of)
