On the 330 front tho, several months ago we were offered 3 each A330's for the price of one 777. This sort of deal may have resurrected itself, but RA said in the last LCA mtg that there would be no new aircraft purchases for 3-4 years and that "growth" would occur by pulling planes out of the desert.

IOW, no new news
I haven't asked anyone about A330's to ATL or JFK

Happy Thanksgiving
I'm certain you mean DTW! Youre going to get a bunch of people excited with that little typo!

Some other rumors.
I'm stating a fact here: Open skies w Japan and JAL JV are separate issues.

- Rumor is that DAL/DALPA is trying to get DOT to delay open skies until after JAL JV issue is over (whether DAL or American is succesful). To me this seems backward, but that's the rumor.

rumor: SEA 76er won't happen this bid.

Talk amonst yourselves.
I've heard the same thing. Couple the 777s and 765 reduction in ATL with a displacement off the 757 and unless 330 flying comes here this will be a brutal AE for ATL. I just can't fathom not getting either additional 330s or 744s down here to replace that loss of lift.

The "white tail" A330 rumor has been around for awhile. Interesting idea, Boeing picks them up somehow and then leases them to us (ie no AC purchased and no loss of 777 line placements to make up for the 787 buffonery) and then we trade them back for 787-9s when Boeing gets TSTG'er.

Interesting.......just enough "could happens" to make for a good rumor

Crap, may have to put that SEA 330 bid afterall. Hey Denny, is the o'l couch still available

Well you'd have to share it with couple of dogs that sleep on it! For a beer, I could see my way into letting you sleep on a bed!! If you want blankets, then ala the airline way, I might have to charge an extra fee (er beer)!!

Not to add or subtract to the rumor but USAIR just cancelled all but 2 of their A330 orders. I think they were supposed to get 8 or 10 starting in Feb for 2010. That number is now 2 so there certainly are airframes available.

Believe it or not, it would not be the first time Boeing has leased Airbus aircraft to a customer. Boeing Capital Credit owns several Airbus frames (type and number not sure).

I recall a handful of years ago, Boeing reached deals with a couple of international airlines to lease A340's until 777's could be delivered. This DL rumor sounds like much of the same scenario...
