Maybe it's time for you to become the fun junior captain.

There needs to be an option for editing the quote that's quoted.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Question for the savvy NYC commuters. I know how to get between JFK-LGA. How do you go about getting from LGA-EWR and vice versa and between JFK-EWR and vice versa. I know heavy train use is involved, some more detail will be helpful.

Also I know the short call out is approx. 2 hours. I could stay about an hour east of JFK and 1:15 from LGA. Is that acceptable or do I need to be able to get to EWR within the 2 hours as well.

It has nothing to do with senior or junior. It has to do with the individuals.

The only part I can answer with certainty is that on shortcall, you have to be promptly available (generally accepted interpretation is 2 hrs to airport). In NYC and LA, this is also further interpreted to be 2 hrs from one of the airports in normal traffic. I.e. Philly works.

Bad traffic changes things and a call to crew scheduling with your status and that you are on your way is all you need to do.

Maybe the reason that it's less fun is not because the captains are more senior, but because you are. ;)

Download the crew runner schedule off deltanet. That is by far the best way to get from LGA to EWR and back. Unfortunately service is pretty limited, but if it happens to line up then it's only $2.

Back in the ol' days, those were good layovers. EVV three nights a week on the DC-7.
